As everyone has pointed out these people don't give a fuck about Null or this site. In general I find that People love intrigue and insane stories, but loathe fact checking. You can circulate rumors or weird interpretations of current events as a joke with others, but there's always someone that thinks its serious and you are guaranteed to find people that run with it as if it was a divine truth written on a golden tablet given to you by mormon jesus (instead of a shitpost) regardless of whether its even reasonably possible for it to be true. On /pol/ it was always an implicit joke that the people that believed what was posted there were idiots and those who thought it was all jokes were idiots.

If the site goes tits up tomorrow, they won't give a shit, they will just find another place to shit up again and again and again.

It's not about whether posters existing from a certain date or belonging to certain groups have no stake in the issue, it's to do with the increasingly hyperbolic language that's leaking from the containment zones making it harder and harder to discern the humour this site is meant to uphold from garden-variety pearl-clutching. The language has quite frankly gotten so ridiculous that Poe's has to be wielded like a jackhammer to make sense of anything remotely political.

The strange thing here is this incident stems from the fact it came from a shitposter user like Sig who was kind of a kf throwback, a glib chaos agent that wielded copypastas like weapons.

He was just distilling that thread's surrounding polispergs raging fedposting into, unfortunately, actionable threats through obvious irony. The tension has ratcheted up this year and he inadvertently did something stupid even if he liked the ethos of the site.

Compare his behaviour to his Bete noir @BoxerShorts47 who openly states he wants to take this site over for his obnoxious poltard ideology. He's stated he wants to 'crush' other users. He''ll likely outlast us all, the last post on kf before it's taken down will likely be one of his specious 'do you believe in white genocide, yes/no' gotchas.

No, I'm pretty sure you can eliminate it, or at least minimize it to an unnoticable state. It's called "deleting", "banning" and "halal'ing". Moderation has to be efficient enough to parse through posts about the lolcows and the posts about the politics surrounding the cow. You simply eliminate the latter.

We shouldn't have to resort to "breeding" cows on this site just to discuss some.

If you did want to eliminate or at least clamp down on political discussion in good faith, a straight up ban for anything political (left, right, extremist, centrist, etc.) would need to be implemented. When rules lawyers come in asking, "b-but is this really political??" counter with, "I know it when I see it faggot". Obviously if this is done the forum would need to lean heavily into it's lolcow foundation, and some discretion would be needed by jannies as some lolcows and video games lean enough into it.

How I have seen it done in practice on other forums is they will let the conversation start if it is lighthearted enough (a joke, simple common analogy, etc.) then if things heat up or people start to argue they step in and say, "remember rule x guys, chill out or I am thread-banning you all". Either people lol calm down at that point or a sperg doesn't stop and is thread-banned (and probably eventually banned).

Of course, this system is not perfect, especially because it puts a lot of work on the mod's shoulders and some arbitrariness is needed, but it is still one of the best ways I have seen a forum handle politics before it could have ripped them apart. Ironically enough, doing this preserved the political diversity of the community, because since people couldn't ruin their relationships politisperging, they remained cordial to each other even with completely opposed worldviews.

It's one of the most radical options, but probably the best one if you want to preserve the original culture without inevitably purging one segment or another.
