And doesn’t actually teach discipline, only fear (I might be misremembering some things, it’s been a long day). So I’ll give them a pass this once.

Funny thing is, when I was in HS, no one cared about lesbians. I am a chick and honestly don't recall anyone being picked on because of it even as a baseless accusation back 20 years ago. Males however, lol, that was the number one go to insult for men and women alike, to call males fags. For women, it is always whores or cunts.
It happened. If you were like me -- a girl who wore her hair short and/or dressed in baggy or masculine clothes -- being called "dyke" or "lesbo" was a daily occurrence. This was in the early 2000's when megaslut-wear was the standard in teenage girl clothing, so it stood out more. From what I'm seeing of teenage girls now, things are a little more covered up.
