The Reset Era thread has a brief glance at the lawsuit and the bits they mention seem to give the impression that the judge isnt ruling in favor of Wardel

I think its deinitely a lolsuit as it involves a person who has engaged with many lolcows and they all hate his guts. Maybe we should have a lawsuit reaction thread.

For now, use the thread we got for it. It's a better fit anyway.

I was also thinking about making a thread on it, so far I don't see people picking apart the actual court documents, instead they're sperging about how bad or good Borderlands actually is.

Gavin McInnes just filed suit against the SPLC seeking an apology over damages to his and the Proud Boys reputation.

With Gavin's lengthy history of extremely colorful and exploitable sound bites that will likely be cited by the defense, the Proud Boys being at best a bunch of drunks looking for a fight and his recent letter writing campaign to get his neighbors to stop being mean to him and his wife over things he's said in public, I think this suit could be pretty amusing

Conversely, if they do get to discovery, the amount of batshit insanity that would be found in Patreon's communications would be beautiful. I wouldnt be surprised at how much spoliation there would be either, given the NPCs love of deleting embarrassing tweets

I don't think he's filing a suit, I think he's just filing a FTC complaint. I could be wrong on that, but the fact that he says he'll need funding and it will take six months to file a complaint seems to provide a few chuckles

How would that work? I think the part of a lolsuit that reveals the lulz is the transparency for all the publicly filed documents. Is the FTC bureaucracy transparent like the courts, or is more of a black hole?

This could be interesting, so much of a lawyers work is public record you wouldn't be confined to sifting through social media.

This would have to be balanced with the risk of them taking actual legal action, once the forum was tracking them directly.

There used to be a lot more publicly posted before I'm sure both sides lawyers told them to stop it, but like a newb I didn't achieve anything.

Pretty much 2 rival parties, Mr. Lyncaster (sir Braven) and MVK (a board run organization, think of a home owners association but for kink) get into it over various consent violations being alleged by mystery people against Lyncaster. It's the whole gamut from rape, abuse, renegotiating mid scene (which is heavily frowned upon), and a minor being present at one of his parties.

He made a ridiculously long post which has sense been deleted unfortunately. While MVK's statement against him has also been deleted its contained in the notice of civil claim attached.

Lyncaster is suing for defamation which caused financial damage to him by effecting his parties. Also looking for damages under the Libel and slander act RSBC 1996, c. 263.

MVK also got him kicked out of Master and Slaves Together which is a massive national organization. They then took up leadership of the new MAsT chapter that was made.

He is asking for a 10 day trial. Of note is that he alleges MVK was publicly brain storming ways to shut down his party after receiving a cease and desist.

MVK has crowd funded 8,350 dollars as of this post.

It's either a large board run organization chasing a dude out to get his market share, which is known to happen. Or it's a scumbag pushing it to the end.

Either way it should be entertaining.

Edit: Response by MVK, and the Notice of Court Trial. It's a limit of 10 days not a minimum of 10 days as MVK has been stressing in its fundraiser. Suprise!

@Null I think this story is actually thread worthy. The linked documents have somehow been updated to reflect what's been going on in the trial. In addition, the idiots who are being sued for defamation can't afford a lawyer and have resorted to e-begging on GoFundMe to cover the cost of the lawsuit. These people are the dumbest fucking idiots I have ever seen, because they clearly state in the updates section that they "don't demand proof, they just believe all victims" -- while they're in the middle of being sued. Unbelievable.

They apparently accused this guy of a whole bunch of heinous shit, and then when people spoke up and supported him or asked for more information, MVK ridiculed them and ignored everything they had to say. I think it's pretty clear that they had decided that the Braven dude was guilty and ignored all evidence to the contrary. Now they're e-begging while playing the victim on GFM.

This story is the BDSM version of the Vic Mignogna case. I will laugh so fucking hard when these people are ordered to pay the plaintiff a six figure settlement.

Apparently, some crazy bitch wrote a blog post about the dude under a fake name. The blog post turned out to be complete bullshit, but it had already started a KickVic-style witch hunt in their "kink" community. I strongly suggest that everyone read the court documents in the original post, because it is fucking hilarious to see just how stupid the board members of this group are.

I updated them to keep the post current. The hearing for the slapp motion is on the 17th so we will see what happens. This is Canada so they may very well win.
