I love how Richard has never read up on Gaius Julius Caesar or Cleopatra VII Philopator. If he did, he would see that there's nothing in common with Jesus or Mary Magdalene. Cleopatra alone has an interesting family history as well as an interesting personal history. He just reads what little information Wikipedia has on them and figures that's all there is.

When Da Vinci was doing the painting for a monastery, a prior there was bugging him to speed up the pace while he was struggling for a good way to paint Judas Iscariot. The prior eventually shut up when Da Vinci told him to piss off or he'd make the prior the model for Judas.

If this were modern day, Da Vinci would have no better model for Judas than a craven thief who turns on what Jesus stands for. not for what they are, but for what they wanted them to be not turning out like they want their idea of Jesus to be.
