Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Regarding the new maps, at first I thought "La Casa" was a neat map but in reality the spawns are absolutely fucked (atleast in objective based modes).
Remember when people used to make their own maps that everybody could download for free instead of this slow ass trickle of possibly shitty (and rehashed) maps? We're at the point that people think that old days are when you paid for map packs (IIRC COD4 map packs were free on PC).

It is still crazy to me to see normalfags running around with £15 skins (of a £60 game) or playing as a female character (wearing something skintight) when they're a dude IRL. I still remember when normalfags wouldn't pay for expansions or call you 'sad' for playing as a female character.

According to the h4rdc0r3 720 n0sk0p3rz, since the female characters have smaller silhouettes, going with a female character and a neutral/dark skin makes them overall harder to see or react to and gives you a bit of an edge in multiplayer.

Call of Duty is adding a DOOM tracer pack for purchase. Complete with Doomguy's shotgun and chainsaw all in its low FPS glory.

Okay, I can admit that's pretty cool.

Now if CoD did bundles like THAT and space them out, it'd be worth a purchase.
At 2400 COD points? No way. I thought the idea of "micro"-transactions was supposed to be that they were small purchases instead of 1/4 (or more) of a full priced game. All it does it encourage them to continue making more skin packs instead of fixing the game. I mean, in UT2004 I had the terminator, agent smith and doomguy for the grand total of £0.

2400 CoD Points is also the price of a Battle Pass, so yeah, you can bet that they're making a ton of money with these "micro"transactions.

Alright, I wanna buy mw2 and try out the alucard shit on Tuesday. Yay or nay?

I'm not sure how good the multiplayer and single player are and I'm wondering how much better or worse it is. Are the large scale battle maps any good?

From my experience:
Single player has some fun moments, but not really anything special. Took a lot of inspiration from Sicario without being as interesting.

I mostly played on the big scale battle stuff in multiplayer, and last played maybe 6 months ago or so. Spawns are fucked. Maybe 30-40% of my deaths were getting sniped seconds after I spawned. Snipers can be oppressive, and a decent number of players will just camp in the back of the map with a thermal sniper. People also like to camp in rooms with few entrances with a shotgun or SMG and put mines everywhere. The conquest-style maps are a mixed bag; some are fine but others are horrendously vehicle-dominated.

It can be a lot of fun when you get a good game, but I spent half of my time playing getting mad (but then again, I have a short temper and mostly play tactical shooters, so maybe I'm just madcusbad).

A battle pass on top of a battle pass and you can't even buy with COD points. So many fuckers with blackcell skins.

Base game costs 70$ and the skin likely costs 24$. That's almost 100 US dollars before taxes and any potential sales(as if COD ever has sales, lol) enter the picture, just so you can play a few matches as your favorite hero and then forget about the game completely like most hardcore fans already have.
It's your money so I can't tell you how to spend it, but Activision is making a killing from people exactly like you, who play the game only to enjoy a crossover from their favorite brand within the game. If it was me, I would just feel dirty and tell them to fuck off.
And no, Single Player is also shit, so you can forget about that as well. If you want to play a decent COD title I suggest the original COD4: MW or the 2019 reboot, it doesn't have the fancy skins abut they're actually good games.

Well if I buy a physical copy it's more like 50 total but I see what you mean

COD sniper rifles, with their near-zero sway, quick-shouldering, no bullet drop, etc are really terrible for Battlefield-style maps. You're not just bad; COD's weapons and movement are designed around small maps with short sight lines.

There's bullet drop in Warzone. A little bullet magnetism in multiplayer.

I don't think there is in Ground War, which is trying to ape Battlefield. Plus, in WZ, you have body armor, which reduces your chance of getting OHKd. Ground War is just like a really, really terrible version of Battlefield.
