Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Worth a Buy has released his review of Vanguard, this might be the worst CoD campaign ever made.
The first AI-generated CoD. Can't wait for him to rip the woketardation a new one though.

So I had the pleasure playing Vanguard and I'm impressed.
You get :

- 2019 MW gameplay at 1.15x speed with an interesting new MP mode

- overblown customization options and amount of attachments that simply exists to make you grind more. Operators got the same treatment.

- a Zombie mode in it's alpha stages. They managed to set up a hub area from where you teleport to little maps, doing outbreak
side missions (some maps are literally within the hub area). Each round gets harder and your perks and abilities are so underdeveloped
that there's nothing to do after round 15 and you can just see the enemies getting stronger and the game bugging out. The mode currently features only Zombies,
exploding Zombies and Juggernauts as enemies...

- characters are ugly af and most got either the 56% look or the Kangz treatment. Some enjoyable voice lines though. The general look of the game is brown.

- campaign is there, nobody cares.

So if anyone is thinking about getting it... this is what you get.

Did you read their bios? A few make a point to mention they are anti-colonialism.

One is an African Jewish lady, from Europe who, is a genius at physics.

Another is a German Lesbian lady who fights against the evil men do.

I actually watched the entire campaign and I have to say that it's pretty clear that these guys can't keep milking WW2 forever. Sure, the only thing that's new is the Battle of Midway and probably North Africa...And the opportunity to troll that wimpy SS guy.

But if all they're doing is an collage of a few unrelated battles of WW2, it's time to move on.

I'd say they could try an Axis-perspective campaign, but I can't imagine the shitstorm that'd cause in [current year] considering we have exceptional individuals who think you shouldn't even be able to play the Axis in multiplayer.

I can think of several tasteful ways to have an Axis-perspective campaign without explicitly saying "Nazis are good guys". A solid writer that knows even a smidgen of history could come up with something about a protagonist blindly following a clearly immoral purpose out of desperation or devotion to their country. But, mUh NaZiS aRe BaD

Well, Company of Heroes 2 followed the story of an Russian lieutenant trying to deal with an exaggerated version of Order 227.

Of course, people hated it after they looked up the actual death tolls from Wikipedia. But it's still a decent story, given how the protagonist was supposed to be executed for talking about the massive waste of life that the Red Army went through, and that incident with the Polish partisans.

I keep reading that Vanguard makes jokes about Soviet war crimes. Might be something Worthabuy'll talk about. I've not seen specific clips but apparently they refer to the mass rape of East Germany and Berlin as a point of pride by the Soviet soldiers "marrying" the women of the "weak" Germans. Diverse and inclusive, now imagine what the reaction would be if they did that about Axis war crimes.

Well, in all fairness, the Germans did piss off the Russians by taking over Stalingrad and killing off the civilians/partisans.

If the German women didn't want to get r- married by those brave Soviet soldiers, why'd they wear such revealing dresses? Clearly immoral capitalofascism hurt those women, not the glorious Red Army.

Haha, holy fuck. The first two are literally, "We wuz GIs n' shiieeeeet!" And the Jap internment camps were not concentration camps. They better change that character bio before Mr. Shekelstein at the ADL sees that and let's out an oy vey that can be heard from New York to Tel Aviv.

Holy Shit this is embarassing

My friends are pissed I didn't buy Vanguard day one, but I told them it looked like shit and they're in the denial stage right now. "Noooo it's totally fun, just get it!"

Cold War and Modern Warfare could've been supported much longer, but instead we get Vanguard in the mix.

I was looking at the killstreaks in vanguard and they really fucked up big time with 2 of them. How the fuck could they mess up a fire bombing run when they had the equivalent in BO1 with the Napalm and Rolling Thunder, WW2 with the fire bombing run, and in BOCW with the napalm strike? They randomized a Denial of Area killstreak instead of having the player manually set the path:story:
And guess what. The highest killstreaks in the game (attack dogs), they don't give you a fucking horde of dogs, they give you three ,fucking, dogs.

Is Vanguard a direct sequel to WW2 or its own thing? How would this even fit into Warzone lore?
