Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Always preferred CoD slop to BF slop, but the last one I actually tried was the.. last.. one? Set in the past? Idk. It ran like shit, but it really underlined to me how deathmatch is just designed as a big circle that people run around, and if they stop running, enemies will spawn behind them. Add skillbased matchmaking and the whole thing just reeks of construced 'enjoyment'.

Do you mean Vanguard? If so, that might have been the worst COD game ever made. In fact, it was so bad it retroactively broke the last two games, MW4 and Cold War, in an update and I don't know if these games were ever fixed.

Treyarch is nerfing the Recon perk from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds due to player feedback. That perk that highlights enemy silhouettes orange through walls and objectives, with another nerf for Season 1.

Perks

  • Recon Combat Specialty
    • Reduced duration that enemies are highlighted after respawning from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds. An additional reduction will be coming before Season 01.
    • Resolved an issue that allowed players to activate Recon Combat Specialty by changing Loadouts.

Vanguard's prestige system is dull. It does not pop out at all, looks generic as hell.

This was retroactively added to MW2019 and Cold War because of its crappy seasonal progression system.

Big agree here; I picked it up a while to test t out, after all the updates and everything, and the game is STILL a broken, boring mess. The characters are all one-dimensional "badass" caricatures with no depth or personality, with a heaping of wokeshit crammed in. SBMM is extremely bad in the game, even worse than MWIII at times, and it's basically guaranteed that you're going to get stuck in a match with unbalanced teams. The gameplay feels worse than a PS1 game; clunky, with floaty guns and piss-poor gunplay, and the melee weapons in particular just feel wrong. Maps all feel dull, as while some of them do have a few unique ideas, they never really do anything special, and all have the same drab color palate.

And that's just the Multiplayer; the Campaign and Zombies are even worse.

Actually, speaking of the Multiplayer: wasn't the framing device for it supposed to be "two teams engaging in Red Team/Blue Team training exercises"? It does explain the operators, but... why the hell would there be "team exercises" during the invasion of Paris? Or during a kaiju rampage in New York? Am I missing something, or am I just thinking too much into a game that the devs clearly didn't give a shit about? I mean, this is a game where you can have Godzilla, Raul Menedez and a Terminator using laser guns against a lesbian former Nazi and a Japanese defector - who're also the only playable "Axis" characters in this WW2 Multiplayer game BTW. It's like Fortnite, except even more braindead.

You're thinking too much about it. The answer is simple. It's a WW2 game, so they needed to have some iconic WW2 battles, not maps set in 1940s training camps. But Nazis are bad, and players playing as Nazis is ultra-bad, so their answer was, "ummm red team blue team training ummm," and that's as much thought as they put into it.

There's even a Reddit thread (of course there is) regarding the lack of factions as "not a dealbreaker." I also suspect that the lack of factions has everything to do with selling wacky operators.

All nu-CoDs have operators divided into two factions but Vanguard. I would think it's so operators can be universally used regardless of team. Lazy solution.

These maps are horrible for Search and Destroy, the entire mindset of these maps is like anti MW2019. They are small, predictable, and barely give you time to breath. Bomb Site rushing is the only viable tactic. There are no lanes to hold, no frag spots, just mindless rush planting.

Lowdown is the worst Black Ops 6 map yet. Kill Order matches just have the HVT camp at spawn. You can be flanked from behind within the middle of the map. The water gimmick is fine, but there's no indication of which section is accessible in the map boundaries.

The new call of duty season pass just dropped, ugly face, nose ring, dyed hair and shaved side, this reeks of made up pronouns.

Can we get regular ass maps that aren’t based around some bullshit natural disaster that makes half the buildings be sideways? Game is only fun for hardcore domination/hard point and the campaign is some of the worst writing they’ve ever done.
Edit: also did they forget to add any fucking guns to the game? The selection is fucking pathetic

I'm having a surprisingly good time playing the new game, but one thing I have a terrible time with in this one is team recognition, both factions are similar looking dumpy weirdos with few stand out differences. I've been using the RC-XD a lot to farm scorestreak kills, and it's a complete nightmare because it doesn't initially show the team a player is on, so often I end up trying to kill friendly players, because both teams are a hodgepodge of random "operators". Similarly I've been playing hardcore, in which friendly fire is on, and it's artificially more difficult when I can't at a glance see who's friendly or not.

Neither of these were a problem in the first 2 Black Ops games, because my team all looked alike, and the enemy team all looked alike, now I've got to look for the blue dot above teammates before I shoot. Barely any of these guys, except from Weaver, even look like CIA agents.

Full link regarding BO6's Season One content.

What is the point of Ranked Play when SBMM dominates all of its multiplayer?
Why integrate BO6's ominimovement into Warzone with no option to revert back to how it was before? Basically, relearn how to play a game.

You know, I never get the buzzcut colored mohawk that some women like to wear.

MW2019 and 2022 have different operators on each faction. I don't know about the others.

I remember tons of women with that haircut in the 1990s!

I can tolerate the supernatural theming to an extent, since it connects with Zombies lore...

Actually, why have them intertwined with each other? Can't Zombies exist independently in its own universe anymore?
