Capcom is planning to revive a dormant IP

What game will they revive?

Considering that Ookami's re-release a couple years back generated almost a million sales they might be using that as an indicator whether the IP would still draw a crowd (the HD-version pretty much doubled the lifespan sales of the game.) Capcom doesn't even piss in the direction of any IP that isn't already proving to be worth the revival. Sadly if that's the case, it'll bomb if Kamiya is not on the team, and I have a nagging feeling that Kamiya wouldn't necessarily be interested in working with Capcom again.

I'd say Dino Crisis. I'm guessing they could use the RE 2 remake as a basis rather than starting totally from scratch on another IP just like original Dino Crisis.

A new Onimusha game would be pretty dope too though.

I’m hoping for a Dino Crisis remake. All they have to do is basically the Resident Evil 2 remake but with Dino Crisis and I’ll be more than happy.
I want a Dino Crisis 3 remake. Dino Crisis 1 was essentially a remake of Resident Evil 2 anyway, just with real-time rendered environments. And Dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs in space on the other hand... That will never get old.

Dino Crisis 3+ EX Alpha HD (prologue).
Plus Season Pass

Shut up and take my money Capcom *sigh*

I really want it to be Okami, or Dino Crisis, but I know it's probably not gonna be either of those.

I don't think it will be Okami, but given the success of the RE2 remake, I think Dino Crisis has a good chance of making a comeback.

Personally, I hope it's Dino Crisis although I'd also love to see Darkstalkers come back as well.

My best guess is either Dino Crisis (because of the RE2 Remake and the newer Jurassic World movies) or they're going to bring back Darkstalkers because it's probably the most requested of their franchises that has never made a comeback at any point outside of compilations, re-releases, or Morrigan showing up in the crossover games.

Okami may be somewhat popular, but it's a stand-alone IP, which are usually less likely to get revived compared to any of the franchise IP's

That being said, I wouldn't rule out something totally out of left field, such as Final Fight or Dead Rising.

Bionic Commando (both of them) didn't fare too well, Ghouls and Ghosts on the PSP was not as good as the original, and was possibly even more worser than Ghosts and Goblins.
Can't they resurrect Mighty No. 9? Why is that not on the poll?

Oh wait, that was Comcept.

I'm putting my money on a new Streetfighter II.

I don't know about that.

Street Fighter V was far too recent for the next game to be a "revived IP" and despite the game's flaws, I don't think it did so bad that it officially killed the franchise like Dead Rising 4 did.

That being said, we could see another game set in the Street Fighter universe in the form of a new Final Fight game.

I'd love to see a Final Fight game done in a similar manner as Grand Theft Auto but actually done right this time, unlike that one Final Fight game for PS2.

My money is on either Darkstalkers or Dino Crisis.

They probably won't do anything connected to Dino Crisis 3 as that game is widely disliked and effectively killed that franchise. No Regina, no actual dinosaurs, and nothing that's tied to the plot of the first two games. The infamous cliff hanger ending of Dino Crisis 2 was technically resolved in Dino Stalker, a spin-off of Resident Evil Survivor.

But if they do bring back Dino Crisis, I'd like it done as either a full-fledged remake that effectively reboots the franchise or a sequel to Dino Crisis 2 that ignores Dino Crisis 3.

I know they won't do it given the censorship policies and it would never happen because of the bad press anyway, but I'd also like Capcom to really push the limits of the M rating in a revival of the Dino Crisis franchise.

As in lots of blood, gore, and fanservice costumes, maybe even a plot-cruicial cutscene that would also feature a nude or partially nude Regina. The nudity would be put in with the express purpose of pissing off the blue hairs, but the scene itself would have something important to the plot as well.

In addition to the dinosaurs, I'd also have human enemies such as hostile indigenous tribes and a group of hard left eco-terrorists too. Maybe the terrorists could be the ones who started the whole mess in the reboot? It could give a new angle to why Regina's team went into the facility to rescue Dr. Kirk

If I were in charge of the Dino Crisis reboot, the game would be like a mix of the RE2 remake, Jurassic Park, and Cannibal Holocaust.

TL;DR-I want woke shit to die in video games already and I'm hoping for a video game equivalent of the new Joker film

Didn't Kamiya say he was taking a RE break after REmake2 to work on a Dragon's Dogma sequel? Or I know he at least said he wanted to do a DD sequel.

But Mega Man Legends 3 would be fucking rad.

Yeah I was just expecting the worst. Only Final Fight game I got to play apart from the original, the SF Alphas and the wrestling game with Haggar in it was the Saturn one. Fighting Force was essentially the "real, but by any other name" successor, even though it was originally gonna be a Streets of rage sequel.

My money is on either Darkstalkers or Dino Crisis.

One and 2 could be amazing even if they just do the same that they did for RE2. I hadn't played that game for nearly 2 decades because it's so hard to go back to 20+ year old game mechanics now. Dino Crisis 1 is still very playable, especially with Hd res and texture replacements. RE 2 sadly couldn't benefit from that, as the Dc port proved.

True... I'd like to see a bit more M rated...

Ok, whatever floats your boat, but that would put me off just as much as having it go the other way...

Same here, I'm taking the piss about Dino Crisis 3, but I did buy an X-Box for the exclusive. One of the worst games I've ever owned, which is why I have a horrible feeling Capcom will resurrect it, because it was the second biggest selling game on X-Box in Japan after Panza Dragoon Orta, (not saying a lot), and they are that tone deaf.

I can get on board with this.... But... edgy just for the sake of it doesn't a good game make... Look at Hatred, It was only popular because it was edgy, but gameplay wise, Postal 1 is way more fun, and just as "edgy". Not even gonna mention the PS1 and N64 South Park games...

I’m putting money on the dark horse of them going in with Nintendo to publish remakes of the Oracle games. Ages, Seasons, and they dredge up the third cancelled one, “Secrets” or whatever. Those games were extraordinary top-down Zelda titles, and even though the Capcom of today is not the same as the early 2000’s Capcom, I’d still be excited to see what they could cook up.

Their reason for doing this would be because they’re trying to convince me specifically to buy a Switch; because that’s about the surest thing right now that would put me over the edge.

Link’s Awakening is a hot item now, and they could just do what they did in 2001 and use the same engine to build the new games. Nintendo has already done most of the legwork, so if Capcom still owns the publishing rights, it’d be stupid not to at least make an attempt.

So yeah either Oracle games or Red Earth/Warzard.

I know, but I'd love a game that is an awesome game in and of itself, but is still edgy as fuck. Just to show that it can still be done in this day and age.
