Capcom is planning to revive a dormant IP

What game will they revive?

What bugs me so much is that SF4 was sooo good, Same as RE4 (But let's pretend the horrible original PC port didn't happen) , Same as DMC4... Capcom can clearly not count up to 5 without fucking it all up.

I would have gone full in day one on a Lost Planet 4.

Lost Planet 5 though...

Hey, Devil May Cry 5 was based as fuck.

Now, that shitty DMC reboot was an utter abortion of a game right up there with Superman 64, Custer's Revenge, Fallout 76, and every walking simulator ever made. But that wasn't really a Capcom game per se, it was basically Capcom letting a different company use the IP for their own game. We saw a similar fuck up when they licensed the Resident Evil IP to the guys who made the SOCOM games for Operation Raccoon City.

Seriously though, I'd like to see Capcom do a modern version of Gun Smoke in light of Red Dead Redemption's success,

Keep in mind that the original Red Dead Revolver for the PS2 started out as a reboot of Gun Smoke, similar to when they rebooted Ghosts & Goblins as Maximo. However, the game was cancelled by Capcom and Rockstar bought the rights to Red Dead Revolver and completed the game, then later revived the IP as Red Dead Redemption.

Voted Steel Battalion just for the controller/arcade machine:

My heart is with Breath of Fire, Mega Man X/Legends, and Cyberbots though. Pitting gunpla/kitbashes against each other in a fighting game should be an idea that prints money, but sadly this never seemed to take off. Still looks amazing though:

I'll even take a beat-em-up revival like the original game.

I wouldn't mind another Viewtiful Joe tbh. I really liked it's unique aesthetic and influences (or at least the combination and presentation thereof).
I want to believe, but I think Viewtiful Joe was a product of a particular time and place which made it as good as it was. I think trying to make another one at this stage would just yield a crappy platformer with no heart.

Viewtiful Joe is the only one of these that needs a sequel. I'm still pissed we never got a conclusion to that fucking story.

I still remember my parents getting me this and a Gamecube for Christmas. Shit still holds up.

Considering that Ookami's re-release a couple years back generated almost a million sales they might be using that as an indicator whether the IP would still draw a crowd (the HD-version pretty much doubled the lifespan sales of the game.) Capcom doesn't even piss in the direction of any IP that isn't already proving to be worth the revival. Sadly if that's the case, it'll bomb if Kamiya is not on the team, and I have a nagging feeling that Kamiya wouldn't necessarily be interested in working with Capcom again.

Someone already sniped me but our favorite Twitter blocker is interested in Okami, weird how Ikumi is also on board, did she finish Ghostwire already ?

Fuck everyone, it's dino crisis!

Probably, people forgot that Capcom created a engine for their survival horror games , a waste to just use it on Resident evil

Also, nobody has mentioned Lost Planet.

That thing has the heretical brand of Inafune, no way someone want to touch that

Ugh, Okami? Really?

Honestly, it'd be a lot better if they brought back Dino Crisis or Darkstalkers, even Ghosts N' Goblins or Onimusha.

Darkstalker I don't know but for what we have see is that or Dino or Onimusha, don't know about ghost and goblin's unless they want to make a port of the psp remake

Or Capcom coul troll us and release Product number 3 HD
