Capcom is planning to revive a dormant IP

What game will they revive?

They put out that Onimusha remaster not too long ago. Could have been testing the waters seeing the success of things like Nioh and Sekiro. Dino Crisis seems like a safe choice after REmake 2. Would have to see what they would do with another Okami before being on board.

I think either DC or Onimusha are the most likely.

I'm surprised at people mentioning Okami. I seem to remember it didn't do too well commercially? I know its a bit of a cult classic now but the other franchises have a much bigger fanbase I'd think and are safer choices.

They've already tried Bionic Commando a decade or so ago but its still ripe for re-creation. If anything, free form movement games (Assassin's Creed, Just Cause, etc.) only really took off after that remake came out. I think it would make sense to try to revive it again.

As much as I love Okami, if they do choose to revive it, I hope the game's more substantial than Okamiden. It wasn't a bad game, mind, but it felt pretty stripped down. I get it but still. I'd be okay if we didn't get more Okami stuff when there's other IPs I'd like to see first.

I'm with that one guy though, more Haunting Ground. Redone Haunting Ground, pick a better VA for Fiona

GTA and RDR are some of the biggest selling games of all time, and still manage to do this though?

True, but Rockstar's open world games kind of exist in sort of a "grandfather clause" scenario since GTA is built on the idea of being a villain protagonist, so the woke-meisters don't really bother them as much because they know that the Houser Brothers are less likely to budge and neither Rockstar or Take-Two are dumb enough to kill their golden goose.

Even then, there's some woke shit that was put into RDR 2, albeit it's very minor and not that big of a deal. You literally cannot kill the Native American NPC's at all, not even in free roam. But the Natives are only found on a very small part of the map and most of their relevance is in the later missions in the main story, so it's not too bad.

Basically, I'd like to see a well-made but also edgy as fuck game aside from grandfather clause games like Grand Theft Auto (although GTA is one of my favorite game franchises of all time)

Yeah, but they also made the Re-Armed series, and they were shite. Just Cause 1 did the whole grappling rope way better. Hell even Spiderman 2 did it better on original XBOX, before Bionic Commando was even in development.

Nobody has mentioned Lost Planet either...

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Just Cause 2? Because Just Cause 1's grappling sucked. You're right that Re-Armed was not a beloved game though, I only said that they tried a decade ago, not that they succeeded.

Yeah I was thinking of 2, where you can pretty much do whatever from the starting level with that big Korean tower... Still think Spiderman 2 on XBOX and PS2 was better for grappling mechanics than BC.

Also, nobody has mentioned Lost Planet.

Dragon's Dogma 2 would be dope. More importantly, I'm just glad they seem to be making decisions that their audience would like rather than running good IPs into the dirt, like what certain modern game companies seem all too eager to do.

If they were trying to appease nerds then it's time for Megaman Legends 3.

I'm that one guy.

But what's supposed to be wrong with Fiona's VA?

Her delivery is terribly stilted, which wouldn't be that out of place in a horror game similar to old Silent Hill or Resident Evil but there's actual voice actors in Haunting Ground so it makes her performance stand out as particularly horrible.

Maybe that's just me though. Like I'm one to talk about bad voice delivery with Norman Jayden as my icon. She's good at screaming so I guess that's the extent of what people should expect from her.

Power Stone 1 & 2 is one of the most fun multiplayer games I've ever played and it's lost to another era. A lot of these games already have fairly recent sequels or are amazing in their own right. Power Stone sort of has a "next-gen" sequel but it's for the PSP.

Okami has an HD re-release.
