Personally, I hope that creepy Sonichu totem is out there somewhere. That shit deserves a bloody Creepypasta. And as much as it frightens me, I would considering buying it if it cropped up on eBay.

.....this idea needs to be funded. Seriously, we need an actual comic of some unfortunate female detective being forced to work with chris and give him info about her china in return for insights into the mind of monsters like the parkour killer, the canadian scat ripper, and the sausage-jockey stylus

Yeah, and almost never for anything academic. You pretty much have to be molesting coeds to lose it. Telling a self centered pain in the ass manbaby to take a hike wouldn't even rate.

Even better is retiring and going emeritus. Especially while continuing to publish. Has all the benefits of tenure with an added "and I don't even need this job" factor.
In any case, I think this guy rubberstamping a personal pain in the Dean of Student's ass wasn't in any danger of catching heat for it.

Well it was at a community college. A lot of them don't offer tenure so instructors have to stay on the administrations' good side more.
 
It's like parallel universe Chris, where he was raised by competent parents. That, and having the kind of autism that makes you good at math, not shitting yourself.
 
Any and all hoarding jokes aside, the fact that Chris kept all his homework from his MHS days really underscores how important that time in his life was to him. Throwing it away or otherwise destroying it after he graduated would have been a final step towards adulthood that he couldn't bring himself to take. Living in the past is so much better when the present is miserable and the future is bleak.

Also, Chris as a chemist is a recipe for a lab explosion, just sayin'. There's no way he'd follow all the safety procedures.

Chem-sperging aside, that's exactly what I wanted to say, but you put it much better. Yes, Chris' life today is his own fault, and yes, his future seems to be a slow, miserable spiral towards death, but at one point in his life there was the slightest possibility that maybe he could have managed to make something of himself.

And then, I remember that we're talking about Chris, and reality smashes that delusion ever so nicely.

I like to think it refers to him being on the Honour Roll for the Special Ed. class instead of for the entire school population. It makes the idea more bearable.

Oh definitely. My roommate and I are looking to get a creepy lawn gnome to put in the bathroom, so it'll watch you while you shit. But the sonichu totem would do just as well.
