In regards to the bluespike audio, I would encourage people to consider the time period. It was a weird fucking time in Christory. Blue fucked up, but it was not as dramatic a fuckup back then.

Like, keep in mind, back then we genuinely considered Chris to be a bigot. Anti-sjw stuff (or just "chill out, jokes are OK, making a watermelon joke isn't the same as a lynching") was not as popular (or obvious) then as it is now.

If blue had kept it just barely under the limit for what's considered acceptable for fucking with Chris, like if he toed the line and just made Chris cry by calling him gay, he would've been cheered. The idea that this spergy, bigoted asshole hates gays so much, that he cries when getting called gay (nevermind that "getting called gay" means berated a retard until he breaks down and cries), would be cause for applause. Maybe not everyone, but a huge portion of the crowd would think that way.

Bluespike was a kid trying to navigate the line between "just cruel enough to punish that tard" (something we all thought back then) and "not cruel enough to get anyone in trouble / do any permanent damage". And he slipped. Again, really the only thing that crossed the line, considering the morals of the day, was the medallion thing.

Everything surrounding the medallion thing is almost as cruel as the medallion thing itself, but that's not what anyone back then cared about.

Now, of course nowadays, we all know that interpretation of Chris is dumb. Chris isn't a klan leader. He's a dumbass from a sheltered life in suburban Virginia.

Heh, or, most of us realize that interpretation of Chris is dumb. Some, like Hirtes, are still convinced Chris is satan.

Like a great example of this is the hilarious "niggos" word. People use that word as an example of Chris being racist. Like, does no one remember the context of niggos? That was when we were blackmailing Chris into saying the word "nigger". See, he knows "nigger" is a very bad word, and that he should never, ever say it. So when we were holding his psn account hostage (or something like that?), we said "say nigger or we're deleting everything" and he tried to pull a fast one. He tried to say "niggos". Chris wasn't being racist. He was being autistically (and hilariously) anti-racist.

Chris is an asshole a lot of the time. But not really in any complex way that requires philosophical viewpoints. He's not "racist", he's childish.

And honestly, people going "eww, you cybered with Chris, ur gay" is baffling to me. "Cybersex" is a euphemism. It's not like an actual sexual act if you're not "into it" mentally. There's no rule that says you have to have your dick out when you're cybersexing a trolling target.

If you're not into it, it's more like a prank call, where you're sitting in a room with your teenaged friends, giggling because some fat dude on the other end is pulling his pud, and then you shout "aha, is your refrigerator running? well you better go catch it lol!" and slam the phone down. Or how watching mr hands for the shock value doesn't make you horse-gay.

It's juvenile and not that funny, but I don't understand people who think that it reflects anything but immaturity on the part of the people making the prank call.

Bluespike’s biggest problems were that he didn’t go into his trolling with any sort of plan as to what he wanted to do, and that the folks he was with didn’t pull the plug on him more quickly.

Maybe kids have gotten far worse - behavioral wise - since I was a kid. Kids are cruel - but Bluespike was a whole new level of cruel. Being 13 at the time doesn't make for a viable excuse for that level of sadism.

Nearly anyone who exclusively trolls someone who is a high tier cow will look fucking retarded in hindsight. Especially if EVERYTHING is recorded and played years later. Why was the situation with BlueSpike a bridge too far? What made this incident specifically worse than everything else?

Declaring the BlueSpike incident as too much, too far, too gross is a slippery slope. Where and why do you draw the lines?

As I see it, there are only two intellectually honest positions to take on this: either you go the sociopathic route and say everything is fine because Chris is subhuman trash and deserves to be tortured, or you realize that the entire game of trolling him has been fucked up and gross and basically nobody involved is blameless or "good." Even the trolls who claim to have been trying to "help him" generally did so as an afterthought, probably as a way of making themselves feel less guilty for their weird, harmful behavior.

I can only think of one example of a troll whose actions were basically harmless and defensible, and that's Robert Simmons V.

I think the line is drawn when it starts becoming cruel and stops becoming fun. Case in point, Chris did everything that Bluespike told him to do, and didn't get his PSN accounts back. Even things that were just disgusting and didn't fit the goal of the trolls.

Clyde's ultimate point to Chris was to go outside into the real world, get a real job, and live a life worth living instead of staying inside, becoming obsessive about your non original OC, and spending your spare time playing video games. He wanted Chris to go outside and become at the very least, a productive member of society. None of what Bluespike did or promised he would do, helped Chris to that end.

Many of the Troll Sagas have the running themes of self-improvement, growing up and becoming a better person. Things Chris ignored in his pursuit of China, Fame and Vidya.

The intellectually honest opinion is that if you're going to troll an autistic manchild, at least do it in a way that doesn't actually harm him and will try to make him grow up and leave his bubble. You're fucked up if you're going to be cruel to someone whose life is already miserable.

Seriously man, BlueSpike was a punk kid, but Chris-Chan was no angel either. Don't let the piano music fool you, if Chris-Chan had the power to knock out Adam Stackhouse back then and steal the trip for a chance to hook up with Megan, he would have.

We're not dealing with a ethically good person here. Wait until the documentary starts covering the Ivy/Vanessa Saga, or even the latter half of Liquid Chris. Both instances where he had a chance to walk away and be the better person. Both times failing miserably. In the case of Ivy, we get to see what Chris actually would be like if he were in a real relationship with a woman. It's the most serious e-girlfriend relationship he has and the way he acts in it speaks volumes about the kind of man he'd be.
