I still can't wrap my head around how or why he thinks he could model. I understand the 'tism aspect here, but there is some SERIOUS body dysmorphic disorder going on here to think he looks like people in magazines.

Guys come on. Is this REALLY all that shocking to you? I mean yeah it pretty much came out of left field (which is typical for Chris) but considering his tenuous grasp on reality and other delusions it really shouldn't be that shocking. I mean Chris thought he as a thin and handsome artistic genius for years. He thought he was in a relationship with Vanessa Hudgens. He thought the Greene County school board had some sort of massive conspiracy against him specifically. And he thought that cartoons existed in some weird parallel dimension. Now he thinks he's passing as a beautiful and sexy woman. So yeah this isn't that shocking. Stupid maybe but that's pretty much par for the course.

What I find interesting about it is how quickly Chris is degenerating into some sort of parody of the LGBT community that he seems to love so much. I mean there aren't many men aspire to be models. Bodybuilders maybe but not so much fashion models. Then again there aren't many men who aspire to dress like middle aged bag ladies either. But Chris does seem drawn more to the catiness and vanity than anything else. It's like he saw an episode of Will and Grace (or better still maybe watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show) and decided to model his entire tomgirl thing off that...

Chris, it would seem, has a self-image problem that is the complete inverse of this. When he looks in the mirror, Chris is able to ignore parts of himself that are inconvenient to think about (like his weight,) choosing instead to concentrate on things he thinks look good (fun and flirty outfits. ) I believe this may be due to the fact that for years now, trolls have been poking fun at his looks. In Chris's mind, he cannot be fat because trolls call him fat, and trolls only tell LIES and SLANDER. Chris's capacity for self delusion is nothing short of impressive.

Anyway, I don't understand why Chris is asking for advice, because even if Thetan taught him about 3-point lighting, composition, posture etc. Chris would still be taking blurry photos of himself on a potato-quality device.

I wonder if perhaps his self-delusion is tied into the transgender/Tomgirl/whatever thing he's got going on. While he was pretty deluded about his looks before - particularly his weight - we did get some indications that he was aware he wasn't quite the toned teenage stud he draws himself as (e.g. during the Asperchu saga). Now he's a lady, he doesn't have to worry about any of that because that was Male Chris.

We also know that Chris has trouble telling women (and people in general) apart and that, for all he claims to want some stunning supermodel go-getter, he'll settle for pretty much anything with a vagina. In other words, I don't think he really has any idea what constitutes an attractive woman. The fact that alt, plus-sized and transsexual models exist muddies the waters further. If you think in Chris terms, factoring in ego on top of all this, it kinda makes sense that he might think he stands a chance as a model.

Y'know, the fact he has to be trying to persue this impossible dream because all he knows about it from TV shows is that these women get paid lots and lots of money for just walking around in clothes and having photos taken of them (which he must believe are 100% not-altered-significantly-in-photoshop) is that he's trying to get maximum return on as little investment as possible of effort. Everything he's done if it isn't directly related to his own perception of the important things in life (like, say, the color of a video game mascot from his childhood getting his arms recolored) is him acting like putting more effort into anything is trying to get blood from a stone.

Which I think underlines how, ironically, in a way his high school years were the best for him. As we've seen, he actually did gradually look like he was going to finally mature the fuck up even by just one iota of measurement after the house fire, where suddenly he had to do a LOT of work in supporting two people, moving burnt shit around, and even tried to enjoy attending a social event or two. Now that 14BC is finally back and things unfortunately seem to be going back to normal as before and he doesn't need to do as much against his will? Instant regression. MHS provided Chris with structure, the rules which he could not break, homework assignments he was forced to do (and IIRC he actually did turn in most of them, grades notwithstanding, as proven from Skyraider91's Indiana Jones-ing of the shit pulled out of 14BC post-fire). He had a social life, even if it was a charade of bribes behind his back, and he even was part of a sports team. He certainly had to be reprimanded countless times because he's Chris but above all else, the enforcement of a structured enviroment that he couldn't entirely rebel against that also held places for him to be, was only ever part of his life when he was under the constant supervision of teachers. Superiors who demanded things of Chris that he hated with all his might but had to force himself to do anyway, which he couldn't complain about in the least.

That's why PVCC was more or less a disaster for Chris, as it was still school...but with none of the hand-holding he'd only just started getting at MHS. He still had classes and homework to do, but at all other times he wasn't being shepherded around. He wasn't being told what to do most of the time anymore.

And therein lies one of the biggest problems with Chris: the only way he can actually motivate himself to do something is if he has a concept of that something being absolutely unquestionable as an order from a person he recognizes as superior. For the past year, the only person alive fitting that description anymore is Barb.

With his obsession on "being sexy" and the amount of media he consumes you would think he would favor stripper gear but that's not the case.

Chris has a hard time telling people apart due to autism, but it's no mystery that he thinks women are inherently attractive. Conversely, Chris has wasted no opportunity to remind everyone willing to listen that he finds men disgusting. It's quite possible that since in his mind he believes he is a woman, that he also believes he is inherently beautiful--more beautiful than when he was male at least. It's convenient for him to believe this, because he gets to be more attractive without doing any work.

I think I might have been reading too much into this modelling thing though. I think it's simpler than that. I think Chris just wants to have an 'attraction portfolio' he can send to other 'sex-positive' women on the internet.

He's always been clueless about clothes. When he tried to look cool, we got the Gay Trucker. When he tried to be sexy, we got a bra with "WANT WOMAN" scrawled on it. Therefore; he probably doesn't see what's wrong with dressing like an old lady - it's woman's clothing, he's trying to look like a woman, what's the problem?

On a more practical note, alluring clothing for women in Chris' size is hard to come by, ezpecially when you're on a tight budget and relying on Goodwill. However, the stuff that is available is more likely to come from older women. Chris probably just finds whatever fits and takes it up to the counter.

I think stripper clothes, or at least the kind Chris would see in magazines and films, can be a little out of Chris's price range. So instead he buys whatever he thinks is good from Walmart. Besides, we know Chris has never had any idea what is in fashion or what looks good. Even when he was identifying as male he didn't know what good men's clothing was so he wore his clown shirts and mom jeans.
