It could be an earnest effort or it could be as simple as being too distracted by Lego and vidya to eat. Depression is also notorious for sapping your motivation to eat in some people.

He might have lost weight but to me I think the video he posted had a messed up aspect ratio. It looked to be done in 6:9 and then converted to 4:3 maybe. It could just be me.

This is also one of the reasons of why he looks like that, you can see that his face and eyes look "squashed" because of the video...

The picture is fine, it's Chris's body that has the wrong aspect ratio.

It's specifically because of the pain that Chris obviously didn't fracture his penis.

If I remember correctly, wasn't there some minor evidence that he'd seen a doctor and the weight loss might have been medically prescribed?

I think he might be telling the truth on this one. Chris exaggerates everything, but the recent weight loss updates have been small and realistic--211 to 202 in more or less a month. If he was lying to make himself look good, he'd be claiming to have lost fifty pounds since his last update.

Chris's complexion in pics/video from the last 6 months is what makes me think something is going on. Like cahoots said, Chris would brag if he was working out. If Chris was living a more active lifestyle than before then we'd hear bitching that didn't just deal with picking up meds and changing bandages. I think Chris's constant complaints about feeling like a zombie and feeling blank may be symptoms of something that he may be writing off as just part of his depression. His life has been really shitty the last few years and most depressed people might not notice a significant drop in energy levels. It just blends together in a big haze. His weight-loss isn't a good sign.

honestly i don't think his weight loss is a good thing. he's thinner, but he looks worse than ever. i'm chalking it up to STRESS and depression, which can affect your appetite. with their money problems and dislike of leaving the house, it might be possible the chandlers just don't eat much because they don't have food in the house

He might be ill, but also keep in mind that when Chris went out to eat he generally went with Bob. Previously, when Chris talked about going to McDonalds' or Burger King or even "the Coffee Place", it was with his father. I'm betting that since Bob died, Chris isn't going out to eat nearly as much, which also makes sense given Barb's controlling tendencies, separation anxiety, and refusal to leave the house. Chris only leaves the house now if she lets him, and she'll only let him if she needs something. Given that and the Resident Evil fridge, my guess is OPL is eating a lot less.
