I haven't read it yet. Just kind of skimmed it. But this panel is weird. It's like the artist glued paper dolls to the comic page. The cover kind of does the same thing with the main character and some other places. I don't know. Maybe it's a style thing.

If it's a stylistic choice then it's still wrong. Normally you'd border characters like this when they're not actually part of the scenery behind them. For example, you could have had a cut-out of adult Beck as she's reminiscing about different stages of her childhood (this would also have cut down those boring-ass pages).

Here it makes absolutely no sense, because they're in the diner. Sawamura Simp's theory is pretty compelling, but I still don't understand how you would end up with that white space in the first place unless you only had the flattened files to work with. My money is on he did it because it looks cool with zero consideration for how the finished article would look.

I'm also pretty confused, the more I've thought about it, how they're going to pair the 'screentooning' with the final, full-colour version. I don't know about American comics, but in manga I don't ever recall seeing screentone being combined with colour pages unless it's for a one-off stylistic thing; otherwise you have one or the other. Screentones exist to create depth in the absence of colour.
plus the one after that gives strong tranny vibes, I think the waitress is a man.
There are numerous panels in the comic where she looks like Liz Fong Jones. Make of that what you will.
Who actually thought this comic would be good?
Vedo himself, when he openly boasted to Dick that when it released he would humble himself before Vedo saying, and I quote, 'wow, this guy really understands story structure'.

It was common to have screentones and color in American comics all the way up until the 90s when computer coloring took over with gradients and effects. When they reprint them now usually those little dots and lines are recolored to a solid color. It's a Comicsgate boomer thing to believe the comic MUST be in color. Black & white manga style is better especially for independently produced books. But if there is no colorist to blame these guys don't have as many excuses when their shit is criminally late.

Who actually thought this comic would be good? Dick was literally saying how mid it was when he read the script like a year ago. If the friend of the creator is giving it shit its prob not going to be good.
I have a feeling that most people who bought this comic fall under two camps:
1. People who hate successful Black small business owners
2. People who hates the big guys, like Marvel
Spite is a great thing, just waste your own money to show it. Fat paedophiles benefit the most.

Does anyone know if Vedo has ever stated what style he is actually going for with Superkiller? Because there are a lot of manga tropes, like the sweat drop and the fact he's called his label 'Shonen Revolver Group', but then he also seems to be making decisions informed by what's popular in American comics.

Either way, there are no excuses for how late this project is. I can't name names for obvious reasons, but I personally know people who have shipped massively successful 50+ page, full-color books on a fraction of Vedo's budget within a 6-month window, and the quality of work produced was leagues above how Superkiller is turning out.

This is bordering on being a scam, but the retards supporting Vedo don't care because it was never about the book, just owning his master Juju's haters.

AFAIK he wanted to show he was better at comics than Eric July. Then again if he's bragging about how he invested most of the 100k into the stock market then he's just openly scamming people to own the black comic man.

July isn't even a "hater" per se, Juju just wants to start shit with him because he's attracting more attention and running a more successful business. The beef is entirely one-sided and as far as I know he's already figured out that giving them attention is a waste of his time and energy.

In chapter 1 of manga: In theory and practice. the great Hirohiko Araki, the creator of jojo's bizarre adventure said "you have one page to capture an audience, If your reader is not utterly enthralled after glancing at the first page he will not buy your book" vito has only one chance and he spends it making fun of tropes that have not existed in 60 years.
Bravo

One of the best examples of this shows our protagonist's position in this society and the desperate situation he finds himself in, his current goal, His and the worlds baseline for normality

What is that animal and why does it have a chainsaw sticking out of its forehead?
Oh yeah, I think I just made the point for you.

I know, I was being facetious because Dick and Vedo are the kind of thin-skinned faggots who write off anyone validly criticising them (or just pointing out they're retarded) as haters. It's the oldest cope in the book.

CringleJingle and mrgirl have been pissed at Charlie as he was one of the first big creators to put a spotlight on Max Karson's Cuties review which blew him into infamy. Mrgirl namedropped Cr1tikal in one of his first rap songs, calling him "moist hypo-Cr1tikal." It's not surprising he's taking shots at Charlie in this manner.

It’s fully apparent EVS and Vito only hate Eric July because they planned to slowly milk retarded culture warriors with half finished and half assed projects where they can reap profits and Eric July decided to actually fulfill an alternative comic and universe

It’s July and all Vito managed is an unfinished, unpolished Act 1 that’s ass.
