Should've kept it as black and white. That red and yellow looks awful here. Maybe shouldve done some blue and gold for contrast on Metokur man here to stand out and be the focus of with the hero lines and aura off the background because it feels too similar with COOM guy and pink shirt chick, especially with hero lines being blue and black and a purplish color emanating off Metokur man for emphasis. Where do you start with this shit?
Give the people some abnormalities, break up the congruence, throw in some ticks, accessories, anything.
These character designs are so predictable, the features are so similar, the lived in feeling is not there in a believable way.
Meteor Man didn't have to be THAT generic. The Wonder Woman/Whataburger logo is not appealing.
I mean Miracleman exists. Even the Meteor Man that already existed had a most sensible design that picrel.
The gradients are garish. The color choices are terrible.

Is Valentina Pinto a talented colorist outside of MLP? Absolutely not. No one needs post shine or lens flare.
Again, a real inker would've helped. There's just too much that needs to be helped.
I wrote before that SUPERKILLER looks like a Chik-fil-A book, and I was wrong.
Gristle Missile looks much more professional.

It's a good thing no one gives a fuck about tubby's shit comic or this email would be getting flooded with Goatse. I thought people learned not to do stuff like this after the Mountain Dew 'Gushing Granny' or Boaty McBoatface incidents.

Onto more important matters: the color panel preview. I've taken the liberty of finding the B&W panels so we can properly compare (spoiler: they both suck ass).


The first thing that jumps out to me is the inconsistencies in people's hair color. Everyone in the B&W version would be assumed to be blonde, but in color they all have different hair shades. Chalk that up to the screentooner being lazy or having no direction.

The much more glaring (pun intended) problem is this:

I never picked up on it with the black and white panels but the color version really highlights that neither the colorist or screentooner knows what the fuck they're doing (and neither does Keder LeBau). I was too lazy to get my red pen out but if you look at the biceps and other areas you'll notice random shapes that seem to serve no purpose.

These should be highlights, but because the people Vedo hired are either too lazy, incompetent or simply not being paid enough they've ignored them and it now looks incredibly awkward. Actually fuck it, it'll only take me two seconds to show what I mean.

I got a bit carried away and added some highlighting to the face too, but for the suit I followed the artist's indications of where highlights should be. You will notice it looks like utter shit, and makes no sense.

I tried to do more to the suit but the anatomy is so bad it makes it difficult to intuitively add light and shadow, so I'm more sympathetic to the screentooner and colorist than I was when I started this autistic rant.

It's actually better because the mouths are a focal point in most panels; we rely on character expressions to interpret the tone of the scene. Conversely, a coffee table in the background of one panel is so insignificant only a completely disingenuous fuckwit could try to paint it as a real issue.

Yes, at least with American comics, you’d have a separate guy for writing, linework, leterwork, inking, and coloring. This was to make the process more assembly line-like in order to get the comics out in a timely manner. However, Vito is doing so because he’s a shitty artist.
