I think the 'soul' was meant to come from this comic being written by a professional comedian, unlike all the others which are written by people aping Joss Whedon, James Gunn or anyone else who made popular things. The problem is Vedo is a shit comedian and his writing is even worse than the Whedonites because he relies on humor and references that haven't been en vogue for 20 years (and weren't particularly funny in 2004, either).

Without the jokes, what are we left with? I really don't know, because I honestly couldn't stand reading Vedo's boring-ass writing long enough to finish act one.

In Vedo's case, there is nothing in Superkiller that's original or unique. The writing is bland, the characters aren't memorable, the premise is overdone; even if I didn't despise Vedo as a person there is literally nothing I can point to as a reason to recommend his book. It's not even worth reading to mock like Sonichu, it's just generically bad like an Asylum mockbuster.

That's true from a business perspective, I was speaking from a creative perspective. I wish Eric every success, but I don't see anything in his work that will stand the test of time. He's professional and puts out competent work that seems to entertain its target audience, but I doubt anyone's gonna be talking about Isom in 10 or 20 years.

Which is fine. Not everything has to re-define a genre and leave an enduring legacy as long as you achieve what you set out to do, and it seems Eric has. Vedo on the other hand couldn't even fail properly; his book is so inconsequential it would have had more of a cultural impact if he'd gone full scammer and never released it.

I'm not an artist myself. But the perspective of some characters doesn't seem to match with the background at some panels. And sometimes the perspective lines between characters doesn't seem to match.

The anatomy is kind of uncanny too. I don't know if this is his art style, but I noticed that the characters arms length is very inconsistent, at some panels it's very short like a stump, and at others it's freakishly long.

I'm not an artist or anything, but am friend of a friend with some people who are; and I forget the proped term, but when it comes to this stuff, they have... ... ... Let's call them technical sheets. Pretty much they're used to help structure scenes; your characters will keep their shape proportions, and ratios when compared to others and their environment.

I'm not saying everyone uses them, and I doubt Vito would be willing to pay for the prep work if he even thought of them. But they help keep your characters and their attributes grounded. I'm not saying his artist needed them either, as things that look unnatural will stand out; so I'm also guessing his artist is doing this when they have downtime and not to actually put food on the table.
