The 9 views tweet incorrectly assumes that Vito hasn't properly funded his comic yet, which would explain the lack of updates and progress. However, Vito corrects them, "no, stalker child! I have funded my precious indie comic EIGHT times over and STILL can't deliver the product!"

The fact this bolsters the tweet's original point rather than undermine it completely goes over the fat pedophile's head. The tweet's original point was that the slap fight is "embarrassing." EDIT: Nothing Eric July said in this context limited the scope of the criticism to the creative aspects of releasing a comic book either. It says a lot that in Vito's mind all the administrative and executive management tasks that come with bringing a product to market aren't "his own work." If he's seriously already working on writing the second issue while the first one is stuck in production hell, then Eric July is absolutely correct. Vito lacks the discipline to dot all the T's and cross all the I's so he gravitates towards the tasks which appeal to him not the ones that need addressing (such as updating your backers on the crowdfunding donations page).

Last I checked the general backlash wasn't against the Creator but Netflix's marketing department for framing it as an adaptation. IIRC Netflix wanted the creator to rewrite the whole fucking comic or some shit for "modern audiences" and he was like "I don't really want to go through writing the series again" and the other guy they had for writing was like "well we could probably do something else" and so the sorta semisequel thing happened. Then somehow despite knowing this and the series title being "takes off" implying Scott goes off somewhere Netflix decided "Let's frame this as the faithful adaptation for the comics people have wanted for years!"

I genuinely hope this somehow leads to an actual adaptation being made that just copy/pastes the OG comic dialogue and keeps the actually accurate characterization of the cast this new series has, though that's probably never gonna happen. Pedoguy acting like fans are "hyper consumers that think they own the media people create" is fucking bizarre and feels less "contrarian" and more "trying to get in on the good side of the clickbait media industry"
