Gary Whitta is perhaps best well known for writing a discarded draft of Star Wars: Rogue One. Cinema Sins and the rest of the world tore his prior writing credits.

Whitta used to be a Neogaf member. He abandoned the site after getting the Star Wars job but only after he took the extra mile to delete every negative comment he made about the prequels.
 
Reposting what I said from the Moviebob Thread because it's still relevant:

Anyone who takes Cinemasins (I personally think they're very funny but to each his own) seriously is fucking stupid. This goes for Bob and double for that director, who I now know is a whiny little bitch with translucent skin. Put on your big boy shoes and stop sperging about a YouTube video.

Also, it's ironic that of all the movies that Cinemasins did to cause this shitstorm, it was another King Kong remake. Not Citizen Kane. Not Alien or Jaws. Not even Ghostbusters 2016. A King Kong remake.

This guy is supposed to direct the live action Metal Gear Solid movie, by the way. I hope it never gets off the ground because of his whining, lord.

You'd think a director of a mediocre big budget movie wouldn't care about some random person critiquing their movie. I don't know how get got through all the negative reviews of his movie after it was released in theaters.

It is amazing how Cinema Sins has their own personal salt factory just by making fun of some movies.

Who knew movies were held in such high regard on top of pedestals.
 
So let me get this straight.

An actual, honest-to-god Hollywood director is getting terminally assblasted by some Youtube nobody who's so tongue-in-cheek you'd need surgery to extract said tongue?

Not that Cinema Sins is the greatest thing that's ever happened to film criticism or even just making fun of films (they're not MST3K/RiffTrax level of talent or quality, obviously, but I've liked a few of their videos), but just how ridiculous and overblown can reactions on the Internet be nowadays? This guy puts this movie up there to be criticized, and he's seriously driven insane by some stupid YouTube video that does exactly that? That sure as hell makes film directors look good and not like a bunch of pussified assholes.

I hate to sound autistic here, but I don't like the thumbnail design he uses for these videos. It's that sort of minimalistic design goons like him love using that I'm just not a big fan of.

Uh-oh, now I'm being a nitpicky asshole. I think the Cinema Sins guys corrupted me, guys.
 
I'd rather be Statler or Waldorf, than the asshole who gets verklempt over the unparalleled artistry of garbage popcorn flicks.
 
There is another beautiful channel where only nice things are said about movies. It's called "Cinema Wins". You won't hear negatives there, no sir. So if you don't want to hear bad things about your work, go there.

(Also, I thought some of the points CS made about Kong were a bit unreasonable, but yeah, it's subjective. I was particularly disheartened by their failure to mention the Mandatory Crying that Hiddleston seems to do in every freaking film he's in.)
