Alright, major spoiler territory for S4 having finished it.
Terry Silver is great. I never saw the movie he's from the actor is scary and convincingly tough. I struggle to believe Kreese can actually really fight anymore - and perhaps he actually can't bar being the king of the sucker-punch. But the actor playing Silver is a big guy and evidently still in pretty great shape. With Kreese they have to work around the actor's age and limited flexibility. When Silver kicks that bottle off the table in the wine cellar that is one mother-fucking fluid kick. The dude is six foot five and even if he's pushing sixty his sheer physical presence combined with the way the actor portrays him as being slightly crazy makes him intimidating. This is a dude who watched Highlander as a kid and didn't get that it was fiction. Kreese is manipulative and driven, but he's a loser, clinging to the last thing that will give his life meaning and doing anything not to just be a meaningless old man. Silver doesn't have Kreese's restraint. I love him as a villain and the ending didn't disappoint.
Trivia I learned: The actor has been doing Tae Kwon Do since childhood and is an actual Karate blackbelt. It shows.
Tory. In the finale I was in the tortuous position of really not wanting Cobra Kai to win, but really not wanting Tory to lose. She's really had it hard and it's not really her fault that she ends up in the Cobra Kai camp. I really wanted her to beat Sam. Even though I wanted Danny and Johnny to see someone combine their styles and it pay off. But her winning would mean victory for Kreese and Silver. She and Robby crashing the prom looked amazing, though. She and Robby deserved that night.
Mrs. Larusso. I don't have much to say here other than the actress is gorgeous. Not just in a regular "professional hair and make-up and lighting makes people look good, but in a real if you saw her on the street you'd walking into a lamppost good. Almost a shame because she's a good actress, too. But all I can see is how gorgeous she is. Scene where she goes badass on Tory in the restaurant and then suddenly realizes what she's done when Tory loses her job; and then even worse when Kreese tells her the situation... She's been on the sidelines as a voice of sanity between Johnny and Danny but now she realises how easy it is to lose your way once you actually decide to get involved. I liked that touch.
Miguel - what the Hell happened to him? I actually thought they might have recast him at one point. Actor's face went almost round since last season. A victim of his new celebrity status?
Pushing realism was the roof-jumping scene. I don't think Sam could have made that distance. It was way too much. And even Johnny wouldn't have been stupid enough to try and get the kids to do it or think those mattresses would be enough. Related, I'm glad Miguel didn't respond to Johnny's pep talk. It was right for him to pull out.
I am really glad Hawk got the chance to go against Robby in the championship rather than Miguel. Honestly, Hawk had earned it.
