I really can't wait for Season 5 now. But with Terry in charge, anything can happen.
But one thing that struck me about how the dojos handle martial arts in this season was that Cobra Kai was more pragmatic, while Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do were too set in their ways. Johnny and Daniel kept treating martial arts in a very dogmatic manner, with the two of them belittling each other's style. Whereas John Kreese and Terry Silver were OK with Robby teaching Miyagi-Do to Cobra Kai, but they also noted its strengths and weaknesses. Neither Kreese nor Silver reprimanded Robby for teaching Miyagi-Do to the Cobra Kais, while Daniel gets uppity with Sam for accepting Eagle Fang teachings, and Johnny gets upset the more Miguel gravitates towards Miyagi-Do.
Learning from different perspectives is common sense, but the good guys have a problem with it, while the bad guys go with it and even study Miyagi-Do from an objective view, noting that while it's good for defense, it's a reactive, defensive form of martial art, which allows the attacker to control the fight.
We see this have a negative effect later in the tournament where even Cobra Kai's secondary fighters (Kyler and Kenny) were winning bouts due to them combining Miyagi-Do styles with Cobra Kai's. Had Daniel and Johnny remained unified, they would have crushed Cobra Kai at the tournament, but they weren't unified, they split because of their "dogmatic differences".
