Jason Schreirer, games journalist, has decided to write a book about the recent troubles at Blizzard.

He just has to get around the fact that he was aware of the sexual assault allegations for years before actually reporting on them because he had friends at Blizzard, and now also because he was planning on monetizing it for a book!

Over in the Japanese Lolcows thread, a streamer and former convict by the name of Yuiga (real name: Hara Tadayuki) who gained popularity as part of a genre of streamers/thugs who discuss the Japanese criminal underworld (so-called “Outlaw Namanushi”), has been found dead inside a suitcase found in the Tama river, with the cause of death being listed as asphyxiation.

Yugia had previously gained notoriety after another streamer exposed his criminal record, which in addition to charges such as theft and assault, revealed he had previously been sentenced to 3 years and 4 months for repeatedly raping a 12 year old girl. He also had beef with the Yakuza, which seems the likely reason for his murder.

In a unanimous ruling, the DC Court of Appeals has ruled that Donald Trump does not enjoy broad legal immunity from federal prosecution, a significant setback for Trump's legal team in his numerous court battles to drop criminal charges related to the January 6 2021 riot at the Capitol Building.
Trump's legal team has stated they will appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court - despite Special Counsel Prosecutor Jack Smith already being rejected by the Supreme Court for proposing a very similar question earlier this year.
A link to the most recently posted court docket is provided in the above linked article.

A Jury in Okalahoma has returned a $25 Million judgement against "the Oklahoman", a newspaper in the state in a landmark defamation case for the Information age. During a High School basketball game, players took the knee, leading to one of the announcers to call them niggers. The Oklahoman then rushed out a story saying the utterance was made by Scott Sapulpa, when in fact it had been made by his co host at the time.

The Oklahoman deleted the article within 3 hours and then published a formal retraction. Sapulpa's lawyers however argued that the damage was already done, with the article being viewed almost 200,000 times and leading to their clients name being forever linked to saying Nigger publicly when his name was searched. The Jury agreed, and ordered "the Oklahoman" to pay $5 million in compensatory damages, and $20 million in punitive.

The body cam of Daniel Larson's arrest has been made public. Daniel is unusually accepting of his fate and sadly does not indulge in any fits of hysteria. He may face additional charges due to the various threats he makes and his phone was confiscated.
However, after the Presiden is secure, an officer begins explaining Daniel's rise to fame to the other bewildered cops.

VTuber drama. This one is a long one (and a horrifying one), so I'll keep it short as possible. TL;DR at the bottom of this post.

There's a VTuber group called NIJISANJI. It's a rather large vTuber agency, owned by Anycolor. They had a VTuber on named Selen Tatsuki, and one day, they decided to delete all of Selen Tatsuki's livestreams (archive of streams) & the company just makes a 2 sentence statement:

Later on, the Twitter account for Selen would go abrupt. On a Twitter alternate account of Selen (@dokibird), she tweeted out that her hospitalization was indeed due to "a suicide attempt" from a poor environment of Nijisanji, and that she will be back for Lunar New Year (Feb 10th.) [post], and after this statement was made, Nijisanji would put out a statement that a "difficult decision to terminate our contract with the NIJISANJI EN Liver ‘Selen Tatsuki’", and that it was due to "...repeated breaches of contract and misleading statements on social platforms." [post]

In these statements, they blame Selen for their poor reputation, was being harassed by other "Livers" (vTubers) for mismanagement but refuses to acknowledge that she broke rules, skipping "proper" steps through Copyright Aquisition (and that she always goes straight to developers/composer/singer/anyone who hold the copyrights) so that she can release more stuff faster, and payments. Of course, this statement was NOT received well (to be specific, it reached over 30 thousand quote retweets and 10 thousand replies to the initial tweet), and I'll let the public speak for itself. But to sum it up: Total Nijisanji Death.

That's not where this story ends however. Because Nijisanji was seen by the entire VTuber industry as a black company (a Japanese term for an exploitative, sweatshop-type employment system), nobody wanted to business with them at all. Merch stores were dropping Niji, with the first being Studio Nekomata [post], people were also noticing the official twitter account was not being tweeted by her but BY the company, people started editing the Wikipedia page to list Nijisanji as a black company (same for Twitter), Nijisanji tubers start to feel bad for Selen [post] (one ignoring it outright)

Since it's getting too long (and let's be honest, you probably don't give a shit about half of this), I'll describe the rest (links highlighted are posts): Nijisanji did not pay artists and people they collabed with months after, causing Selen to pay for stuff out of pocket, other vTubers who were with Nijisanji got mass unsubbed, more nijiEN tubers put out statements (and more people), AnyColor's stock dropped, more merch brands continued to drop (this time, Hyte)

TLDR: Selen Tatsuki used to work for Anycolor (Nijisanji) & got treated like shit & almost killed herself because of harassment by other vTubers & staff, she quit the agency after and posted about it on an alt because she did not have access to the Twitter (and was being controlled by the company), Nijisanji put out a statement (a really bad one), remained unprofessional, got shat on, went trending, got burned hard, got sponsors dropped, and Total Nijisanji Death is in effect.
