Update on the false DMCA claims against the Kiwi Farms by a Turkish company. The bot that they are using, or the Turks themselves, have seemingly sent DMCA claims against the thread discussing their illegal use of the DMCA.

Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) has sent a DMCA claim against the role-playing game forum RPGHQ for hosting a mod for The Sims 4 called "DEI Remover."

The underlying issue is that this claim is a targeted takedown of the contents of the mod, because The Sims 4 has a massive modding community. There are The Sims 4 mods with millions of downloads, of which 3 of the top 5 are pornographic in nature. The contents of the targeted mod "DEI Remover" is redundant, because what the mod is essentially doing is changing the presets of some of the "Sims," the virtual people in the game, to be white and straight. Even with presets, players can still change the "Sim" to become white and straight using the "Sim Editor." Even so, the mod does not work with the current version of the game.

Nevertheless, the mod ticked off EA's corporate that they sent a DMCA claim after the forum. Due to RPGHQ being more than 25 times more smaller than the Kiwi Farms as well as lacking any legal infrastructure as extensive as the Farms' (and the forum having one employee based on a near-zero budget), RPGHQ acquiesces to EA's demands to delist the mod. In addition, to prepare for any DMCA takedowns against "de-wokifying" mods hosted on the site, RPGHQ has restricted viewing and downloading of these mods except for users with RPGHQ accounts for the time being.

RPGHQ is known for their mods to remove "wokeness" from Baldur's Gate 3 and the game's developer Larian Studios are aware of the forum's existence in a Discord comment according to a RPGHQ user.

The situation in Germany gets ever sillier. In a historical first for the Federal Republic, CDU leader and chancellor candidate Friedrich "Fotzenfritz" Merz FAILED to achieve a majority in the first round of chancellor voting, achieving just 310 of a required 316 votes.

Article 63(3) of the Grundgesetz [constitution] says that the next chancellor vote must happen within 14 days. After a few hours of deliberation, the parlamentarians agreed to hold a second vote today at 3:15 PM local time, that's around 15 minutes after this post.

15:34: Open vote (raised hands) for whether to hold the next chancellor vote now. All factions and members voted in favor.

As an internet user, you may be aware of "error 404: page not found" or maybe even "error 502: kiwifarms is broken"

In 1999, "HTTP status code 402" was added to the HTTP/1.1 specification, detailed in RFC 2616. The significance of this status code is that it was called payment required. It was designated under "reserved for future use". In all of this time, Bitcoin and many advancements of internet money bullshit never took advantage of it.

Today, this looks like it is finally set to change. This may be of interest to the future of the K-farms in general as well as other websites - it will likely dramatically change the way that you and others use the internet on a day to day basis.

Why does all of this matter? It begins taking significant steps in allowing basically any website ooperator to put in a single line of code and receive USDC (a stablecoin) payments from users without really having to depend upon the whims of payment processors, accounts, banks, Christine Westside Chandler, your great uncle or anyone else who has an opinion on the matter.

While this is still in rudimentary stages, it has a lot of money behind it as well as some big supporters - and despite Coinbase being a big player in it at this early stage, is not dependent upon them as it is open source and an open specification. There is actually a highly significant push into having internet users with wallets that feature stablecoins (such as USDC) for micropayments, and while it hasn't become fully commonplace just yet, it has been rapidly picking up traction.
