Team USA in The World Baseball Classic (essentially baseball’s answer to the World Cup) pulled off the upset of the tournament by beating the heavily favored Dominican Republic to clinch a spot in the WBC finals.
Tomorrow night, Italy and Venezuela will play to determine who America will play on Tuesday for championship.
Update: Venezuela has defeated Italy in the semifinals, setting up a world championship match between Venezuela and the United States, the same country that kidnapped their dictator earlier this year. The game comes on at 7pm Central Time or 6pm Eastern Time on Fox and your piracy website of choice. Be sure to tune in to watch America. BTFO Venezuela once again; discuss it here.

I would like to present the trial of the century currently ongoing in an Ohio courthouse. Rapper Afroman is being sued by several Adams County sheriffs officers for various things following the rapper creating various offensive music videos featuring the officers first and last names prominently. This all started as a result of a 2022 raid on the Rappers house that he claims was retaliation and that the officers stole and damaged property.

It is day two of the trial and so far an officer has refused to confirm or deny if Afroman has had sex with his wife. Another officer cried while being made to watch the entire 13 minute music video called "Liccem low lisa" featuring claims that she is a lesbian, and transgender among other things.

Discuss the case here.

Update: Afroman is also now posting AI generated memes calling the other sides lawyer a pedophile defender with his phone number and office address in the meme.

The cancuck parliment (C’est "parlement du leafistan"... JF, vous avez ecrase la patate...) is once again trying to eternally "one-up" Americans by shitting something out something much worse than US Congress does.

I present to you bill C-22 in PDF form (it's 72 pages, in English and quebecois, mon dieu) "An Act respecting lawful access (farms link)" ("Loi concernant l’accès légal"), which allows for:
  • Metadata retention for 1 year
  • Gag orders up to 1 year
  • Delayed notice of surveillance 3 years
  • Warrantless search cause lowered to "reasonable suspicion"
  • Anyone who is an "electronic service provider" (so anyone who has a service on the the internet) must provide subscriber information, metadata, and "reasonable assistance" up to 1 year.
  • Customized communication "software" as authorized pursuant to the Minister of Public Safety.
  • Yes/no confirmation of access of a person, must provide name date address ip
  • Legal immunity for "Voluntary" response to these requests
Of course, only the offspring of the anglo parliament and the parlement français could do such a thing.

As humanity enters the AI era and a gaggle of tech CEOs are constantly blasting us with messaging about how totally amazing AI is and will solve the world's problems a great example has popped up - rather than using AI for something positive, a tech CEO instead used ChatGPT for the purpose of trying to oust the development team of Subnautica 2 to avoid paying a sales/performance-based bonus of $250m.

The penultimate title in the series, Subnautica, was quite a unique and distinguished title and an actually decent game - the studio was bought out by a South Korean publisher because of this. The CEO of the South Korean publisher set aside his team of lawyers and instead consulted with ChatGPT to concoct a plan to oust the original founders and avoid paying $250m in bonuses. This failed spectacularly and ended up with the fans/community surrounding the game to be MATI at the publisher.

It is not only a very pertinent example of the shortcomings of AI and how it isn't likely to replace all our jobs next Tuesday but a very pertinent example that the outcomes of AI or anything are generally driven by humans - and in this case, when a greedy and shitty Tech CEO is at the helm, it may amaze readers to learn that they're not going to be using AI to find out how to plant more trees with Mr Beast or solve world peace, but instead use it to try and be greedy faggots.

Iran has hit an American F-35 for real this time. CENTCOM confirmed the aircraft landed safely and the pilot is fine. This is notable because it's the first time an F-35 has ever been hit in combat.

A US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at US air base in the Middle East after it was struck by what is believed to be Iranian fire, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Capt. Tim Hawkins, a spokesperson for US Central Command, said the fifth-generation stealth jet was “flying a combat mission over Iran” when it was forced to make an emergency landing. Hawkins said the aircraft landed safely and the incident is under investigation.

“The aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition,” Hawkins added. “This incident is under investigation.”

The incident would be the first time Iran has hit a US aircraft in the war started in late February. Both the US and Israel are flying F-35s in the conflict; the aircraft costs upwards of $100 million.

The emergency landing comes as senior US officials continue to claim widespread success in its campaign against Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Thursday morning that the US is “winning decisively” and that Iran’s air defenses have been “flattened.”

Google has updated how they will treat side-loading in the future. This time you need to wait 24h to be able to install applications from non-approved sources.
They still require dev self doxxing and publishing fee for having their applications approved by Google.

Advanced flow safeguards against coercion

Android is built on choice. That is why we’ve developed the advanced flow – an approach that allows power users to maintain the ability to sideload apps from unverified developers.

This flow is a one-time process for power users – but it was designed carefully to prevent those in the midst of a scam attempt from being coerced by high pressure tactics to install malicious software. In these scenarios, scammers exploit fear – using threats of financial ruin, legal trouble, or harm to a loved one – to create a sense of extreme urgency. They stay on the phone with victims, coaching them to bypass security warnings and disable security settings before the victim has a chance to think or seek help. According to a 2025 report from the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), 57% of surveyed adults experienced a scam in the past year, resulting in a global consumer loss of $442 billion. Because the consequences of these scams that use sophisticated social engineering tactics are so severe, we have carefully engineered the advanced flow to provide the critical time and space needed to break the cycle of coercion.
  • Enable developer mode in system settings: Activating this is simple. This prevents accidental triggers or "one-tap" bypasses often used in high-pressure scams.
  • Confirm you aren't being coached: There is a quick check to make sure that no one is talking you into turning off your security. While power users know how to vet apps, scammers often pressure victims into disabling protections.
  • Restart your phone and reauthenticate: This cuts off any remote access or active phone calls a scammer might be using to watch what you’re doing.
  • Come back after the protective waiting period and verify: There is a one-time, one-day wait and then you can confirm that this is really you who’s making this change with our biometric authentication (fingerprint or face unlock) or device PIN. Scammers rely on manufactured urgency, so this breaks their spell and gives you time to think.
  • Install apps: Once you confirm you understand the risks, you’re all set to install apps from unverified developers, with the option of enabling for 7 days or indefinitely. For safety, you’ll still see a warning that the app is from an unverified developer, but you can just tap “Install Anyway.”
We know a "one size fits all" approach doesn't work for our diverse ecosystem. We want to ensure that identity verification isn't a barrier to entry, so we’re providing different paths to fit your specific needs.

In addition to the advanced flow we’re building free, limited distribution accounts for students and hobbyists. This allows you to share apps with a small group (up to 20 devices) without needing to provide a government-issued ID or pay a registration fee. This ensures Android remains an open platform for learning and experimentation while maintaining robust protections for the broader community.

Limited distribution accounts and advanced flow for users will be available in August before the new developer verification requirements take effect.
Visit our website for more details. We look forward to sharing more in the coming days and weeks.
