The only ones interested in any of this show besides the Concord episode is the journalist caste, ergo the Concord episode is quite literally the only thing keeping this abortion of a show within the discourse. There's a huge cohort of people who are only interested because of its failure. I'm actually surprised Sony hasn't strongarmed him into burying it, leading me to guess that it's going to be completely sanitized of anything juicy and won't tread any new ground. If I was in his shoes, I wouldn't just be defending its inclusion, I'd be hyping it up. Of course, he's being a disingenuous faggot about everything surrounding the game but that's besides the point.
Nah, it's probably simpler than that. Like you mentioned, the only views this thing is going to get is from morbid curiosity at this point. Having anything juicy in it was likely never a factor either. The real reason sony probably doesn't give a shit? If the episode was already done, pulling it at this point(or even a month ago) would just cost sony more money re-negotiating whatever the deal with amazon was.

Even though nobody cares I'd rather have the thing out there to evaluate, critique, and even redicule, rather than have it become the gamer's version of the Chubbuck Tape.

the Secret Level episode that is about Concord is going to be astroturfed and Concord flopping so hard it killed the studio doesn't change that. It would've been astroturfed no matter what.
As much as I want to hate-watch that episode, it'll be so polished and squeaky clean with toxic positivity and a focus on the queer devs because gamers hate queer. It'll be so boring and predictable with zero calories in it. No bite. No meat. Just "The Professor" and her lunatic TQ+ zealots.

Is that episode still going to happen? The game is dead.

Even if Sony kept Concord running out of spite it would still be forgotten because it was such a nothing of a game. For example, who here among you can name a single Concord character (pronouns optional)?

It's still listed in the updated trailer for the series they released the other day.

Yeah, it's going to be released. It's been paid for, the work was done, and even with a dead game it'll just be filler.
Seeing it alongside icons like D&D, Megaman, and Armored Core just makes me sigh heavily and mumble, 'It's all so tiresome'.

This looks so shit I don't know why they even bothered. The only thing that even slightly piqued my interest was the Warhammer sections but since it's Amazon they're probably going to poz the shit out of it and have Space Marines discussing gender identity.

The game choices are so bizarre as well, who was crying out for a Spelunky TV show? It feels like the early days of Netflix where they bought the rights to whatever shit they could get cheap. Also, wasn't God of War also meant to be part of this series?

I haven't even heard of half the shit that are getting episodes.
I guess that's the point, maybe? Promo for upcoming games. That's definitely why Concord was in there, I've no doubt.

I'm still baffled by Spelunky though, even the second game came out 4 years ago. The same dev did recently release UFO 50 which seemed to get a lot of buzz, so maybe it was meant to leverage the brand recognition and get people to go do a 'where are they now?' search. The whole project is very mysterious.

Oh sweetie...you don't need Amazon to TQ+ify Warhammer. GW does that fine on their own. Remember the Female Custodes bullshit a couple of months ago?

Yeah I've heard about all the gay retconning GW have been up to (I also remember them being accidentally based by adding a Carl Benjamin parody and making him ultra-based).

My only real experience with Warhammer is playing some of the games, reading the Horus Heresy and listening to various soundtracks so I'm hoping I can remain in that bubble a little longer.

Amazon posted a clip of the Concord Secret Level episode on their Xitter, and posted another clip of the episode on the official Secret Level page, by using the code C0NC02D:

The clips look like a typical Sci-Fi series with nothing that stands out. The characters in the game also don't appear in these clips, so either Amazon is hiding them for the actual show, or they made the show before the game characters were hastily changed at the last minute, because they weren't DiVeRsE enough.

What the fuck? What can you make out Spelunky, the game has like 2 other NPCs other than your main character and the enemies. You might as well make a Netflix show out of fucking Dig Dug.
Netflix really is the dumpster bin of cinema, isn't it?

I think the Concord episode was supposed to be a promo for Season 2 of the game, hence why there's new characters. Yet these characters will never be playable due to Concord dying so soon, which is pretty funny.
Concord truly is the Fading Kitten Syndrome of gaming.

Lol, the first white dude in concord who is not a latinx manlet, and they dedicate a whole "comedy" video to him where he just dies over and over again in multiple painful ways.
