I am from there, ever since I left, I have gone back to visit my grandparents at least once a year with some exceptions like during the pandemic. I have seen the degradation every time I've gone, it gets worse and worse. But the thing that most impacted my parents when they have gone, is seeing old people rummaging through trash to find something to eat. It is really depressing, seeing the town you grew up in, in that state. We even saw a young man looking through trash, my dad felt bad for him so he gave him some money, when I asked him how much he gave him, he said $100 CUP, I laughed at his face, in our time, that was worth about $4 USD, then it was worth about 1/3 now it is less than 1/4 USD
Also, it's just called "Granma," and people call it "El Granma," and they better not stop printing it otherwise people will run out of toilet paper (I'm not kidding about that btw)
