Speaking of the pirate side of things.

The rightoids centrists of the Farms seething as one or two reviews from the SJW gaming bastions place actual critical analysis over a shallow game's shitty take on a black man's creation in a genre critical of capitalism and conservative societal norms--ya love to see it.

Where did it say capitalism and conservative social norms are bad?

Everything seems to be terrible because social norms changed

The Long Dark is pretty based but I wish this far in its lifespan there was some kind of win state, even if it's super hard to get to.
Yeah, I'm surprised they've taken this long to get to the middle of the story essentially. Maybe a "winter is over, it's now summer" since canada essentially has those 2 seasons. Reap time 8 months of misery and cold.

...what?

Like, a good last 80% of the last 70 pages are us shitting on very obvious bugs.

If you want someone who's praising this game in spite of the ominous tidings to 'spite the SJWs' go to HellvsBabyface or some other youtube channel

So, I skipped about 20 pages because fuck reading 20 pages, but consensus is that the game is terrible, overhyped, and yet somewhat salvageable despite all that? Or is it that there's no saving it?
I can't speak for everyone but I have it pegged for mediocre currently; Depends how quickly they squish bugs for it to stay that way.

From what i can tell after watching some reviews - game is good, but there's a shitton of technical issues with some glaring bugs like random levitating loot, npc model duplication, audio glitches, really on the nose type of bugs but not necessarily game breaking. Plus some crashes.

That being said, it's hard to tell what happens because at least according to the various reviewers, they released a partial day1 patch which fixed a lot of these annoyances. Depends in what shape the game is going to be when it actually releases, but so far everything points to it being at least salvageable.

I'm getting Fallout 4 vibes from it right now. It'll sell a ton and a lot of people will have fun while others shit on it but a lot of people won't be able to shake the feeling of hype backlash and just something being wrong in general.

So in light of this seeming to be a fucking gigantic misfire, what’re people’s choices for best game this year? My choices would probably be Doom Eternal, Hades, or Ghost. All of them played well, were well optimized, and looked good.
