Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

So, apparently one gaming mag revealed some more details about the game. The player will be offered 3 career choices (Nomad, Corpo and Street kid) with the first starting you in the Badlands while the other will probably start you in Night City. While I wouldn't mind having the other options, I think just having the more popular 3 works best.
No furry option? Pass.

Pretty sure the furry option isn't exactly a career option. Could be a body mod upgrade or something.

choosing a furry anything should preclude you from actual jobs and reduce your charisma by 50% for any non-furries. and regular citizens should regularly/randomly attempt to murder you for your degeneracy

Only issue is that doesnt make sense in CPs setting when nobody in society gives a damn if you're a furry, tranny or whatever. Unless theres gonna be some crazy bible humping religious group, which actually would be hilarious to see some Christian or Muslim types get pissy about

It's CyberPunk, not CyberMuslim.

Besides, having a soul crushing corporate job in a cyberpunk future is the most boring shit ever, why would you want one in the first place.

Back onto topic. Have a gander at this shot of Sasquatch, the leader of the Animals.

Troonish screeching in 3, 2, 1...

I swear to fucking God I saw this woman at the grocery earlier.

So they scrapped the whole " Backstory" window from the 48 minute demo and replaced it with a simple " Choose your prologue" thing? I actually like that, though looking at how DAO did it it's probably gonna have no impact on the main plot passed the conversion point and a few choice segments put there specifically to go " SEE HOW YOUR BACKSTORY AFFECTED THE GAME". Pretty big thing to change this late in development though. It honestly feels like for the past 5 years CDPR have been scribbling on their notepads and only in the last year and half has development actually been done.

Another thing i noted is that both Nomad and Corpo were roles from the Cyberpunk 2020 but Street kid just seems like a place holder backstory more than anything. Would have prefered if they used one of the other roles that weren't included. Rebel Rockerboy could be cool, media (though not sure how that would work), Cop (all be it maybe a crooked one).

They apparently did keep some of the stuff from the demo, as it was part of CP2020 life path system, but instead of making it too bloated they went with the 3 mentioned choices, letting you pick your childhood hero and something else. I do agree that Cop would have been interesting, though think rockerboy and media would have been harder to impliment, maybe if they went with Solo it could have worked out more.

You're a games journalist who was fired after giving a game 7/10 and a less than stellar review. Now you have to survive the harsh streets without knowing how to code.

Hm, either that or your ass getting fired for spouting shit about one corporation thus getting you kicked off the network.

If i were to give a serious suggestion i would say something closer to Samizdat from Deus Ex. Underground news network that operates on the fringes of the law. You could be a disillusioned journo that either founds or joins it.

So, another interesting news popped up. Apparently depending on the players weapon skills you'll be getting different animations for your guns. I guess what that implies stuff like reloading your gun faster or maybe using/activaiting spesific mods.

Gothic did this with swords ages ago and I'm glad another dev is finally bringing this feature in.

I was hoping for somewhat of a more standard RPG experience. Sounds like the plot is heavily forced into you being a merc. There are so many interesting paths someone could take in the universe from what I see in the tabletop. I feel limited, though I did enjoy the Witcher trilogy so I doubt this is going to be a complete disaster.

Well, let's be honest even in the TTRPG's you are still gonna be in combat and in a way you're still doing merc esque work, just you're given more character options which results in you probably having different set of skills or openings.
