Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

IMO it wasn't really so much about the effects on the story as it was giving the player a chance to have a greater personal involvement in different parts of the game, i.e., playing as the Human Noble made the stakes higher when you were dealing with Howe since he killed your parents and usurped your family's title, the Dwarven Noble had more of an involvement in the succession conflict in Orzammar (and was personally fucked over by it), the Mage had a personal conflict with the Circle, etc., etc. I'll grant that this was imbalanced; the Dwarven Commoner origin has fuck-all to do with most of the goings-on in Orzammar and instead you get a minor link to the crime boss there, for example, and for the most part these links are superficial and don't give you any unique options in dealing with their respective linked parts of the story.

All that to be said that I wouldn't mind something similar in Cyberpunk - a little playable intro section for each background that shows how you get caught up in the events of the game, just to give you a little more grounding in the world right off the bat.
Would coincide with the original Cyberpunk 2020 boardgame, where the backstory of your character was rolled for you. It was pretty detailed iirc and would add just that bit of extra flavour to the game. It was fairly detailed and affected your starting position, so it would be great if they could somehow have that in the game.

these people still crawl out and bitch their asses about having to pay more as they want the shit to be free.

Even if it was free they will bitch about, i always amuse myself with the new mental gymnastic they pull every day, there could be something absolute perfect and they will complain that because they are not perfect then the perfect thing is not perfect then is -----ist

I hope we can romance Keanu. And I hope he doesn't pull some heroic sacrifice shit halfway through.

Now please reveal who Charlize Theron is playing

They've said the Keanu character is some sort of "digital ghost" that only the main character can see and hear. I'm guessing his body is dead and he went Johnny Mnemonic into the main character's head, maybe? Being able to romance him like that might help reel in the plural gang. And they say CDPR aren't progressive.

Lmao maybe some Intercourse With You meta shit.

So there's this conspiracy theory making the rounds that all this unusual and vitriolic negative press is connected to the Epic games store via financial interests. This is because its launching GoG Galaxy 2.0 which aims to unite all your games under a singular platform (including Playstation and XBox), and with Epic exclusivity, this does not benefit them. Since nobody wants to fucking use them anyway.

HOWEVER, the idiocy of attacking an extremely popular game that will probably move more units on your store than any other exclusive sort of counters this. Since Epic management is fucking stupid, I could see it. Sort of. But I just don't think Epic is stupid enough to launch all of this at Cyberpunk.

I don't really believe it. I hate Epic. I hope it burns to the ground, with Tim Sweeny, that smug faggot, inside. But this seems untrue. A bunch of mega-corporations going HAM on Cyberpunk for a shitty digital game distributor seems really fucking unlikely to me.

The most likely explanation is that it isn't Epic, but faggot journalists launching coordinated articles like they usually do through some circle jerk mailing list trying to exploit the clicks as much as possible so they can hang on for five more minutes. Also this was a waste of time and money anyway, since Cyberpunk 2077 outsold every game in June. To me, its just the usual journalist circlejerk of trying to remain relevant while failing. Epic would not punt a cash cow like Cyberpunk, no matter how stupid they are.

Anita's tweet to CDPR and their lack of response is a microcosm for this nontroversy- idiot americans who are accustomed to having shitty corporate interests bow to their loud screeching are furious that a euro shop brushes them off time and time again. they're just like the old church moms who'd screech about dnd and all that shit; it's just how they practice their religion.

Yeah, like I said, I didn't believe it. Sweeny hates Steam more than anything and wouldn't want to piss off CD Projekt for fucktarded reasons. Even if they are a competitor in the same space, money is money and Cyberpunk will make them more money than they'll lose off of it.

All journos have mailing lists where they coordinate stories. This is from mainstream outlets like CNN to Gaming Websites. Sometimes they want to blitz a message and get a ton of clicks to set it up. That's all this was really. It wasn't undue scrutiny, since its probably the most popular game in the past 5 or so years.

Anita's tweet is basically desperation for her, since her organization is completely broke. She's doing everything she can to remain relevant, but this con has run its course. She's desperately trying to hang on, but she's completely irrelevant. She's too controversial and her results on 'consulting' have been consistent failures. Companies can virtue signal without wasting capital on a loser.

I was actually quite excited about cyberpunk both when it was first teased and when all the rumors that it would be in E3 started floating around. The more i saw of it however the more of a nose dive my excitement took. If they had shown Vampire the Masquarade Bloodlines but Cyberpunk then that would have been great, i would have loved it but it just looked...meh. It showed a dialogue wheel but organized vertically, it showed a scripted as hell driving sequence and some fairly flaccid shooting (I don't expect insurgency tier but come on).
We didn't get to see any social play like the character talking their way out of a situation or use social skills or somekind of unique dialogue option from their background, we didn't get to see any non-combat quests, we didn't get to see customization all that much , we didn't get to see how stats affect your character. They basically didn't show us the RPG portion of an RPG game. It's especially disappointing after you listen to interviews with Mike and some CDPR people way back when the teaser came out. They made so many promises and none of them materialized. I honestly feel bad for Mike, he clearly had an idea of how to convert his TTRPG into a videogame but CDPR kept telling him no until we eventually got what we have now which strikes me as a quite bland sandbox with RPG-lite elements (Basically The Witcher 3, hell they're even importing the same perk system).

The conspiracy theories are fucking retarded though. I saw 3 whole videos posted in less than 72 hours from each other about how you should " follow the money" . I almost want to see Cyberpunk 2077 crash and burn just to see these people's heads explode and sperg out like the Andromeda shills though i get the sense it would be 10 fold worst with these people.

I mean these amatuers didn't take it far enough. We all know epic games is owned by tencen, tencen is linked to the chinese government , the chinese government is communist, communism was ofcourse founded by Carl Marx who was, guess what, a jew. That's right the jews are behind this yet again!

You do realize the only video we've been show was the Alpha demo from 2018 and even then they said how this isn't the entire game and how you can do actual RPG stuff like use conversations, stealth, or hacking to help you get trough the game. So, your entire argument hinges on one solitary video, that from the start was said to be a work and progress. Yet somehow, you already manage to base your entire idea on what the full game is gonna be.
