Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

CDPR sure pulled a bait-and-switch by featuring Hyper in their 2018 E3 spot. Now you can't go to a synthwave/hardsynth track anymore without everyone in the comments spamming about Cyberpunk. Guess some people are going to left disappointed by the soundtrack.

Yellow blood? Or are katanas made out of powder now?

Yellow blood probably. They look like crash test dummy robots.

Watching that stream now, looks ugly. Why is everything so oily?
I imagine the devs just set the specularity or metalic values high in the material and just called it a day. In my own experience just slapping some spec or metal was textures on something usually creates something "presentable" in most engines, and "graphics" seems to have just become "the surfaces aren't just flat objects with albedo and normal maps only. Shiny surfaces are the easy way to make people think "gud grafux"

Have been aware of this game for a while, and while I loved the continuous delays, I was expecting it to be the lastest step in grand atmosphere depressive gameplay, not just "GTA V but futureee".

Amazing. I hope it's absolutely broken on launch for maximum salt.

Personally I am the sort of weirdo that likes it when the (unarmored) enemies are easy to instantly kill with a well placed shot, but you are also easy to kill with an unlucky bullet to the head.
This is why STALKER is infinitely replayable. The combat situations are always harrowing and intense.

The only interesting thing about this to me has been the insufferable people popping up to screech about what "true" cyberpunk is all about.

These people are the same types who never shut up about how they're the ones who actually interpret media correctly unlike the chud MAGA gamers, but then think the theme in cyberpunk media about losing your humanity to technology is supposed to be a good thing.

Why do they even compare HRT or whatever to cyberpunk body mods. this shit is so surreal I don't know started it - a lot of morons genuinely think early cyberpunk writers were like Leninist queer Women of Color because it has 'punk' in the name.

this game is gonna fuckin SUCK

Exactly. arbitratily tying combat to levels is retarded, and makes games not fun. In stalker, even the shittiest guns are still useful, while in fallout, half the guns feel like waterguns.

I remember back when that Eurogamer article came out that pestered the devs about how transsexuality is such a fundamental part of Cyberpunk. Back then I went to Wikipedia to the Cyberpunk genre article that's many pages long, Ctrl+F'd "trans", not a single hit. They just completely made that up out of nowhere and got CDPR to accept it to the point where CDPR pretends that nobody has a gender assigned at birth. Hey, even if you want to replace your genitalia, you're still born a certain sex, and that kinda matters for your character. Now we're at a point where we want "character development" but at the same time make no distinction between someone born with a vagina and someone who cut off his penis and got a hole as a replacement? That doesn't affect the character lore at all? Okay then.

Similarly, but entirely different topic, it would be cool if games that offer you to choose your sex also assigned certain hard basic traits to your character. Remember when in RPGs you choose soldier or wizard, you get different traits, different amounts of muscle, intellect, etc? It should be the same with choosing character sex. A female should start out with less physical strength, but maybe more verbal/persuasion skills etc. Would also make it more interesting to replay.

This is why I play Eclipse Phase as a TTRPG: You want to be a tranny octopus weilding a katana? Sure why not. You want to be a human but have legs like spiders? Sure can buddy. Want to play a hologram that looks like a cross between an Apple II and a Nintendo Switch? Have at it broski.

Why does all this work? because stats are all numerical value and what you look like only impacts on those that see you and all these bodies are just 'sleeves' for you to host your intelligence in.

That's what the trannies want: Your body to be nothing more than the place that hold your mental makeup, but they can't figure out that people will STILL judge you based on your actions of being a shitty entity to others.

You may look like a Troll with tentacles and any GM worth their salt will have people skeeved out by your skin because it UNNERVES them and is different than the shit they see every day in their lives. You wanna be accepted for your body piercing that make you look like every Cenobite went into a blender and all the metal parts came out together? Go hang out with that type of folks who don't mind your shit as normals don't want to hurt their brains from your exceptionalism.

The world of Cyberpunk2077 doesn't accept those that stray so far from the 'norm' that they appear grotesque and inhuman no matter how desensitized people have become or how jaded/burnt/unempathetic they are. It's baked into the lore and the history, people still care about each other, and if you turn yourself into a goddamn cybertranny with a penis the size of rugby ball and a voice more feminine than the Power Puff girls expect people to act differently toward you.

Society will not change to suit your world view no matter how much you force that shit down people's throats.
