It's amazing someone could be so proud of clicking a button to block meanie words that he names it with his own hashtag.

It's just Dan blocking out the little people. You know, the Rick & Morty fanbase. It's amazing someone could be so proud of clicking a button to block meanie words that head names it with his own hashtag.
Makes me wonder how Roiland ended up with such a miserable fuck like Harmon for a "friend".
You know, the reporting on Season 4 reminds me of a story I once heard about a player of The Division (not sure if it's real) who decided to stage a social experiment. He falsified reports about a glitch in one of the boss fights on the official subreddit and waited until sites like IGN and Gamespot had reported on it before revealing the ruse, with the intent to show how easy it is to trick the media.
Harmon's basically doing the same thing here. He's artificially creating a buzz for season 4 to try and inflate interest and drown out the people who weren't happy with season 3.
Well, looks like Roiland's piped in and it sounds like they're might be some truth to Season 4 not being greenlit yet. But as with everything else so far, huge difference in responding method compared to Harmon:

Sounds like Dan's gone full circle and is now and gone back to sweeping shit like being unfaithful/abusive to his wife and abusing/sexually harassing that writer from his other show under the rug. Wonder how that writer is feeling about Harmon's "A+ apology" now.
I think the huge problem with this set up is that seeing Rick's "downfall" (if you can even call it that) doesn't really stir any emotions in you because it doesn't even feel like he's lost anything. There's no expectation that he's expected to respect Jerry, or stop taking his grandchildren on these dangerous space adventures, or even really contribute to the household despite living there, and the only real difference seems to be on the off-chance the president stops by he has to wear a fishing hat. Hell, it doesn't even feel like a step up for the family since the entire season spent their time shitting on Jerry and reset any growth he made at the end of every episode, so it's not really clear why we're supposed to care that Jerry and Beth are together again. It's not even particularly funny since the only joke is "lol status quo" between the clunkiness of the plot that's mostly focused on going from point A to B and the utterly hamfisted delivery of just having the characters state exactly what the writers want you to get it.The point of Season 3 is trying to start off with Rick pretty much having the family's dominant position (proven by Beth chose him over her husband, Jerry and they divorced), and ended with Rick losing that particular position (especially with Jerry and Beth getting back together) but even then it still needs better execution than this.
I would be surprised if Harmon doesn't get shit-canned again for being poison to most work environments in the near future; I don't think he's nearly as valuable to the show as he thinks.I would say he really needs to take a break from Twitter, but seeing how other lolcows are too busy sperging on Twitter, this is very unlikely and if his behavior follows, it's kinda hard to see a Season 4 even possible to be developed in this condition.

While this is mostly speculation on my part, but I think a large chunk of these issues stem from how over time - whether it was because Harmon started projecting himself onto Rick more and making him more of a self-insert/mouthpiece or because of executive meddling - Rick's actions and viewpoints became a lot more... polished for a lack of a better word. His range of emotions became a lot more limited, a lot more focus went into how Rick's so much more above society despite the fact he's basically an 80 year old NEET who has to mooch of his daughter and son-in-law, and everything else seemed geared towards making Rick look "good" or at least sympathetic rather than just let him be a character. The end result in season 3 especially is that there's a lot of moments where it feels like the writers weren't willing to go all the way with any of the points they were trying to make because they were more concerned about keeping this "all according to keiku super genuis" persona in tact while ignoring all the past times Rick's proven to be utterly clueless at times.
For instance, we're likely never going to see the S1 Rick who does dumb shit like this again:

It's also probably not a good look for Dan to be making weird jokes like this when he has a history of being a total creep and he was accused of harassing a female co-worker only a few months prior:An attitude like that on Twitter and he's only been found to harass one woman so far? I call bullshit, especially after that "all-female writing team."
What a creepy thing to say in public. If it's in private with people that know you're kidding- go for it. But this is the public face Dan chooses to show. It's also probably not a good look for Dan to be making weird jokes like this when he has a history of being a total creep and he was accused of harassing a female co-worker only a few months prior:

Roiland voices Rick. Harmon voices minor characters like Bird Person and Ice-T.You could probably get rid of Dan and have the show go on. Sure he voices Rick but Rick's voice isn't so unique that someone else couldn't do a reasonable approximation of it.

You could kick Harmon out and replace Bird Person with a robot voice since he's now a cyborg.
