DSP does seem to be on edge, what with another up until gone 4am night & claiming his "entire mind and body are spent". I'll also point out that DSP no longer wants to play Jackbox games or Use Your Words, ever since he got trolled hard 2 days in a row in late May with Leanna jokes before he'd announced they'd broken up. He claims there's 'nothing left to play' in them, but I think he just doesn't want more trolling about Leanna or his financial situation. Is it possible that Phil actually just wants people to be nice to him? It's pretty clear that he's starting to break, and he's said several times now that he doesn't have any friends. He might just be desperate enough where he's painting himself as a victim to get pity points from his audience. It also has the added benefit of bringing in more donations too. I really think it's more of an attention thing, he's egging it on further by saying shit like "nobody has actually guessed it yet, but I'm still not going to tell you even though I am acknowledging that I'm aware you're all talking about it."
Leanna had no income when they setup the move in early to mid 2014, DSP acts like she wasn't sure what her home business would be (eventually being soap, but could have been arts & crafts?) after the move.I'm assuming Phil got the loan for his house based upon his and Leanna's income. I assume he'd also have to provide documentation about how he was going to pay for it (print outs of his YouTube channel no doubt).
As for how he got the mortgage approved, he did vaguely whine about how much effort it was to prove his income, having repeated calls with people & complaining how they were behind the times in understanding Internet income. Considering DSPGaming was on a downward turn since mid 2012 anyway, I'm amazed he got the mortgage approved. By late 2014 or 2013 I think DSP was claiming his income had 'leveled out' and he could feel confident in how much money he'd be getting over a year. In practice, privately by late 2014 he must have been considering Patreon after that Ask the King question earlier in the year & his infamous Layton vs. Wright "BUSTING MY ASS!" prestream.
DSP flipflops on whether it's those Google/YouTube hipsters with their book smarts or if it's those danged dirty detractors that ruined the 'business' depending on his mood & whatever point he's trying to push. To put this in perspective, January 2016 is less than 3 months after the search tanking after deleting those videos was explained to him, and barely a month after YouTube Red got everyone to kill grandfathered views contracts for ad revenue, so it's the first time DSP is making the poor January ad rev CPM on YouTube.https://youtu.be/I6WhIBQFT3Y
The link goes to a 1/25/2016 pre stream (conveniently deleted by Phil but saved by Fred Fuchs) where Phil explicitly states that it's Youtube & NOT the "little kids that try to fuck with him" that screwed over his business. The relevant part is 13:20 - 14:05. Unfortunately I'm on a mobile device & can't paste a video at a certain time.
You've got this way wrong and in a scary way - DSP's income is MUCH higher. I'm only tracking cheers, subs & now trying to track tips. July's ~$2000 cheers/subs plus $1000 in tips just around the Rockstar false copyright strikes let alone tips through the rest of the month according to DSP was NOT as much as his YouTube income. Meanwhile August with the record ~$3000 cheers/subs & over $700 tips for just 1/3rd of the month's streams I was able to track WAS more than his YouTube income... and DSP claimed his August YouTube ad revenue CPM had gone up slightly vs. July.It really isn't difficult to save up and judging by stuff EddyB posts he makes on average $3000 a month. At least $2000 on bad months and sometimes he gets lucky and gets up to $4000 a month. Thats enough for bills and to save up, but he doesn't save, he spends it on dumb shit like dollar store things and expensive restaurants or mobile games (He admitted on the supercard forums to having spent up to 3k before ragequitting).
What this means is DSP's implying his YouTube ad revenue income for July & August were over $3000 but likely under $4000. Let's keep this simple & guess both were $3,500 (August DSPGaming total views down slightly from 1.92mn to 1.85mn), add ~$1,000 for Patreon (DSP wants $1,250 remember) and we've got ~$3.5K YouTube, $3K+ Twitch & $1000+ Patreon for a ridiculous $7.5K+ monthly income.
Let's end on the September current running Twitch total: Over $1600 in cheers/subs & over $2000 in tips... and I'm missing stuff like random sub $2 not shown on screen tips & I deliberately skipped a $5 & $20 tip DSP mentioned on prestreams as being sent overnight, I'll add those & similar as a 'bonus' at the end of the month.
