Why does it take this many frivilous lawsuits to even begin talking about declaring someone a vexacious litigant in the US? I'm geniunely curious why the right to sue is so sacred that even crazy people get to file hundreds of bullshit lawsuits, wasting time and money with like zero reprecussions?
Seems to me that legal system is there to right wrongs, right? (in theory of course) Cutting that right off should be a measure of last resort.

Because unlike Europe where your rights are merely a suggestion, you have a constitutional right to petition the courts for "redress of grievances". See the First Amendment.

Having your rights taken away should be a massive thing.

That said, as Google pointed out, he has been declared one in his home state.

That's perfect summary of the courts' usual view on this

It doesn't matter where you live, the idea that you have rights are just an illusion. Mostly because no one fights for them anymore and the government knows it.

It's a really important right. The alternative is the tyrannical faggots in the government punishing you for what they deem damages. I'd rather be able to seek redress for my damages, and if someone tries to claim damages against me, be able to argue that they didn't occur.

We've had our disagreements on this, so for the sake of not derailing the thread, I'll simply say that I still disagree with this take

No way is Acerthorn going to win against Google of all people. You can rest assure that Acerthorn's litigation days are numbered. Unless he starts filing lawsuits winth Bing or something. Could he even do that after this?

Because the US judicial system is inherently broken. Simple as.

Stabbins appears to have responded already with a Motion to Strike.

Because the alternative -- denying someone access to the legal system because of a string of unsuccessful suits -- is much worse. Just because some asshole abuses the courts for nefarious ends doesn't mean they can't ever have a legitimate claim against someone who actually has wronged them in an actionable way. The process of denying someone access to the courts is deliberately slow and methodical, and the bar for sanctions is astronomically high, because it is a major curtailment of a fundamental right.

And it's a fundamental right because it's about all we have anymore to defend ourselves against assholes (biological and corporate). Not that it helps much, but it's better than nothing.

It's rather like how it seemingly "takes forever" to actually execute someone in the US after they've been sentenced to death. That process is slow by design (much to the (justified) annoyance of victims' families, etc.) because the criminal justice system has a rather extensive track record of getting it completely wrong, fingering the wrong person as the suspect and scoring a death sentence only to have them exonerated twenty years later by DNA testing or some other evidence emerging.

We err on the side of caution because the alternative is pretty god damn awful.

Simple as.
Stop that.

It's amazing how google's filing is clean, professional, to the point, filled with citations (wow so many hughes vs benjamin citations!)

And then there's Acerbore who'se filings are a direct assault to your senses, have little to no citations, looks like what someone who saw a motion once in their lives think a motion should look like, tell the judge what to think instead of citing other judges' opinions as a basis for their own opinions, are trifled with typos (reasons #1,4,3,4) and are definetively...

D-E-F-I-N-E-T-I-V-E-L-Y

Not just some whining by someone who can't tolerate being told "no".

The hilarity is he always thinks he will win. He never has. He never does. He never will.

But what neither Court nor Google mention is that Vexatious Litigation such as Acertard is simply gameify'ing the legal system to force their victims to be assesed pain by needing to pay ruinous legal fees to protect themselves from the in forma pauperis pro se litigants abuse. And they have no counter for that. They have no mechanism to ever be made whole. This is where the charming right to petition for grievances no matter how destitute is in fact hurting people. And the courts should be ashamed for permitting it.

Such extreme mixed feelings with this one. It's honestly quite apropos that the Devil Incarnate is what finally puts Stabbins' in his place.

You get a brown star for this one, Google. You're doing some good, but you're still Evil Given Form, you got a looooooooooooong way to go before you start earning gold stars again.

That Motion to Strike is a treat. I can just visualize Acerthorn sitting in his hooker killing dungeon, REEEEEEEE-ing and gobbling through tears as he composes the equivalent of "NUH-UH YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!" 40 times over. I can only imagine the sheer terror he's feeling right now, someone finally pulled the "vexatious litigant" card, and it's Google of all entities. Little old David is fighting a raid boss with near infinite resources, without a party, and it feels so right.

And they have no counter for that.
They do. The issue is that both clerks and judges are overworked (and or lazy) and in some states, it's easier to game the system like that. Remember, out of all lawsuits filed against Null, he only had to respond to two. That's pretty decent.

It's only "pretty decent" to government workers. To everybody else its appallingly bad. Nobody cares if clerks are overworked. The Clerks aren't the ones having to spend an entire years salary to defend themselves against court subsidized autistic retards.
