First the Titanic franchise got an unexpected sequel opportunity and now this. Even reality can't be original any more.BLACK HAWK DOWN I SAY AGAIN. BLACK HAWK DOWN.
The "Tower Do You See That" was when the Fireball lit up. Another plane was trying to alert the tower to the collision. From the audio it sounds like ATC was instructing the Blackhawk to pass behind the CRJ700. And asked the pilots to confirm they had a visual on the plane.1- Neither aircraft attempts to divert coarse before the impact.
2- The pilot says, "Tower, do you see that?" a couple seconds before impact in a totally calm voice.
3- The air traffic controller is totally calm and doesn't issue either aircraft an alert.
4- It looked like the jet was landing and the helicopter was crossing the airfield at close to a 90* angle. Both of these things are extremely common for their respective aircraft.
5- I don't believe either aircraft carries a radar package, and they were flying at night, likely through a combination of instruments, sight, and specific directions from the tower.
6- The National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees (NBCFAE, yuck) is a shady DEI organization that's been accused of actions that lower the standards and capabilities of the ATC profession in general.
No! They expect one of us in the wreckage brother.Urge to banepost, rising
Really? Then why are you here? Now is not the time to Banepost. That comes later.
Going through more videos this aircraft seems to be pretty well documented. Here is a video featuring it that has 164k views.Nothing to do with the accident itself, but I was able to find a full flight video someone took with the same CRJ in 2020.
