Deadlock - An FPS MOBA by Valve.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
However, Valve will definitely need to market this as a MOBA with shooter mechanics and not a (hero) shooter with MOBA mechanics, if that makes sense. The way everyone responded at first makes me think it'll be dead on arrival if they get that wrong, regardless of if it's actually a good game or not.

I hope they fuck it up. Wouldn't be fun if they didn't.

This is Artifact Valve, not TF2, Portal, HL2 episodes valve. The chance they fumble this is higher than any hope of landing it.

New hero, new patch. Enjoy your mash of Earth Spirit and Pango.
Thank you random Valve employee or 4chan poster with no avatar. Could you perhaps provide us with any additional information?
Is it this thing?

I know the game is still in development, but I can't get over how cluttered and busy the ui is. There's so much shit happening and I find it funny how the killfeed is one of the smallest elements.

At this point, I'll take ANYTHING over Overwatch. And I am super glad this game isn't trying to copy it, because well, Deadlock is actually... fun.
I really hope the HL3 leaks are true this time though, this game is certainly not for everyone since it's a MOBA and not an actual hErO ShOoTeR (but that doesn't mean it won't make a fuckton of money on day 0, seeing at it's peaked at around 23k players without any official announcement) and I certainly hope that Valve won't throw its old IPs into the window to make way for it, like, well, Blizzard for Overwatch...

Got the chance to play it last night, playing offline just to learn the game, I'm kinda enjoying it, my biggest issue is that abilities feel like they lack oomph and characters aren't really visually distinct at first glance, they just kind of blend into the background and I probably wouldn't notice them if they didn't have healthbars overhead.

Ha HA! I'm not crazy!

It's worse than you imagine, there's multiple characters who can fly and when you're up in the air like that you don't even have the luxury of a goofy sihilouette that some characters have, literally everything looks like one of the little soldiers and I completely lose sight of the enemies on the way up.

I and many many friends have been allowed into the test. I'm certainly not going to make any promises of playing enough to get a complete sense of game balance, but I'll offer what I can. I'll report back once we all manage to have a chunk of time to play together.

Edit: Oh - apparently we're not supposed to do that yet even though there's no NDA. Welp.

So apparently there's a minor controversy because Valve had a NDA you didn't actually need to click to "sign" on to play a build and the journos leaked the footage because they didn't agree to it or something. It's a lot of retardation
There is actually no NDA. You get a popup that more or less just says "please don't tell anyone about the content of this game" and it's probably not at all legally binding. It really just seems to be under the honor system, but with how many people are inviting friends to join, the honor system alone isn't gonna be enough. I expect friend invites will be shut down soon to try to mitigate this.

ETA: Oh yeah how are people not talking about the one human white dude on the team whose backstory is just "Jason Lash is an asshole" and his entire gimmick is whipping people? Valve literally added a white gigachad with a whip into their most "diverse" game yet.

Hatkeks are unable to comprehend deadlock kino. They just can't grasp the genius design of icefrog and the intuitive yet deep mechanics placed within. Truly deadlock will be an experience that will define gaming and surely it will become the third pillar of valve kino. Of course the hatkek will whine and seethe with their trans sisters in their favourite hugboxes: Reddit, /tf2g/, kiwifarms. Maybe they'll pop and addy and start grinding out mvm tours to get their fix of gambling. But alas, they'll never understand playing a game just for the sake of playing the game. Instead of rigging an economy and acting like a mini rothchild.

The games pure coal I actually got a key, if it was not a MOBA id be down with it being a regular hero shooter but the moba aspects are trash to me.

I dont understand how /v/ of all places online is the place that is hyping it up the most.
