Well the point with bringing up the UK law would be to show that laws supposedly aimed at deterring child exploitation can indeed be pivoted to interfere with unrelated things if the lawmaking body is so inclined. I think the post that @neger psykolog made earlier here lays it out pretty well. I think less that OP is genuinely sketchy and more that he expressed a general skepticism of any restriction whatsoever in the most deranged way possible.

@NotAFanOfTheJews there was a time when the site was TOR-locked for all users. It tanked the userbase, but despite that there were still a healthy number of people who went through hoops to use the site and endured. We understood the necessity then, and we understand it now.

Regarding the UK's Online Safety Act: It's my understanding that it was Null's decision to block the site for UK users, not the UK itself who made it. He did it to protect UK users from potential prosecution for accessing a site that doesn't comply with the OSA.

In my opinion, the UK has bigger issues than anti-child-exploitation laws being weaponised against normal people. You can already go to jail in for saying "I think she's a lesbian". The OSA is terrible and should be nullified, but there are better things to prioritise if the UK is to ever stop being such a shithole ().
