I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen much AI chicanery yet, I'd figure  someone would be unhinged enough to try and pass off obvious AI generated voices of a politician as a legitimate voice clip, but I guess it's still too easy to identify it as AI.

  • Artemis finds it funny that the Trump assassin manifesto gets released almost immediately with a laughable bounty on Trump's head
  • Dev says "nono, this is totally normal guys since it's part of an active investigation"
  • Artemis points out the obvious double standard when it comes to the tranifesto and that the tranifesto is an anomoly in recent manifesto releases
  • Dev has to go back 25 years to fucking Columbine to get the last time a manifesto was stonewalled, while tee-hee, oopsie, admitting that the DoJ was preventing the release of the tranifesto
  • Dev asks Artemis for a single example of a manifesto that was voluntarily released by law enforcement, which Artemis promptly provides
  • Dev claims that example doesn't count because that was a sheriff's office, not the DoJ
  • Dev then claims that the only reason the DoJ released the tranifesto was because the investigation was done.
  • Not because they didn't want to show the musings of a murderous psycho troon to the world
  • Not because they were compelled to by the courts
  • Not because it had already leaked by that point
  • But because the investigation was done, so there was no point keeping it hidden anymore

I'm fairly sure that was bait, specifically for me and Scrump, but more generally for anyone curious about the Xanderhal meltdown. He was hoping we would bite and RT it or talk about it so then he could tag Wu, as he does constantly because they totally have no relationship whatsoever, and they could performatively laugh at how we fell for a fake leak. He seemingly doesn't care that he implicated other people in a potential FTC violation at all, just like Wu doesn't care about (allegedly) committing actual FTC and FEC violations because he is very smart™ and claimed the money was for "canvassing", totally fooling the federal government with this one simple trick. Again, we'll see how that plays out for him. As with that convo with Artemis, Dev's play is always pedantry and/or semantics.

EDIT: Oh, as to the evidence about PV funding streamers. We know they funded Xanderhal. WhickTV publicly brags about being funded by them. Those are the two I can confirm. If you look through their public filings it's difficult to tell where the money is being spent because the PAC spends $100-$1000 here and there to sometimes unclear sources, which is probably streamers, but until we get back formal information from the US govt I can't say for sure. I think Scrump filed the request back in March, but who knows how long it will take for us to get a response.

Progressive Victory recently switched its registration from a Super PAC to a Carey committee. The major difference between the two designations is that Super PACs cant donate directly to candidates or parties, but Carey committees can. They've spent 163 thousand dollars just in the past year, and again, we know several thousand of that went just to Xanderhal.
