Devon Del Vecchio / "Dev" / ShortFatOtaku / @sleepy_devo - Degenerate loser, honorary whiteknight for Lilith Lovett, constantly at odds with his own viewers for being a centrist

Another Dev Video, and I have a lot to say about this particular one, because it encompasses a few issues I've had with Dev's recent content.

The central theme of the video itself, obviously, is the recent trend of people who cut people out of their lives for failing to vote for Kamala. Where things get strange, is when he essentially tries to turn this into a "both sides" issue - referencing most obviously extremely obvious cases from about 20-30 years ago. Since this is an area where I have some expertise, I feel the need to dismantle Dev's argument here a bit harder than normal.

What Dev is referring to is the tendency that some very religious families had to disown family members (especially their children) for behavior, choices in lifestyle, sexual preference, et al. And make absolutely no mistake: this shit happened. It was happening even in the bluest of blue states well into the oughts, and I can tell you about personal examples I encountered at length. It was a major contributing factor to why the left made major cultural gains up through the 90s, and once again we're reminded that it was the most dumbfuck elements of the right directly leading to the left's biggest victories even a few decades ago.

But this has been an increasingly uncommon phenomenon for over a decade now - both because of the right losing the culture war of the 1990s and early 2000s, and because of the establishment right getting absolutely blown the fuck out in 2008, leading to the vanquishing of the Moral Majority. While I wouldn't be surprised if incidents like it were still happening, they are absolutely not happening at anywhere near the scale they once did, no matter how much Dev pretends otherwise.

But where it becomes much darker is when you realize that Dev is essentially dancing around the topic here. Dev is someone who has seen, IRL, friends of his turn on him because he wouldn't radicalize into extreme leftism alongside them. He knows that exactly which side of the political aisle has made a fucking habit of things like deplatforming, struggle sessions, and other leftist tactics, and I know this because the dumb fuck has covered them at length in previous videos he's fucking done!

Videos like this are proof that Dev's ability to maintain his position on things are rapidly breaking down, and you can rest assured that more and more of his audience are starting to notice. In the end, he only has himself to blame, though I suspect that he will instead blame everyone the fuck else when the dust settles.

Where is the SFO response video? Good question ACE, it's up his putrid anus.
Ah shucks, looks like ACE does lurk here after all.

Do I get humblebrag rights or something?

The last part of the video is most definitely a sneaky diss against Aydin, Scrump, and the likes. He says you should not try to make amends with someone who distanced himself from you, because it proves him right for doing so.

Methinks this is the closest we’ll get on a “response” video from him.

It's hard for me to feel bad for a guy who was okay knowing trannies sent death and rape threats to a streamers over a shitty, woke wizard game. It's harder for me to feel bad for someone who also uses cancel culture tactics when he gets called out by any political side, and supports Trudeau. Dev made his bed.

Who are these people?
DreadRoberts (left) and I think MelonieMac (right). I don't know who the middle is (some guy named Trent, apparently). I've not heard of Trent, but the other two were the instigators of GoonerGate.
I've not watched it yet, might give my thoughts after.

The guy he first talks about comments on "falling down the same trappings" and kind of has a point.
Millennials, being edgy for the sake of it, created an incredibly prudish late zoomer generation.
Moderation maybe would be the best way to stop a pendulum, assuming you wanted balance.

I can agree. It was embarrassing growing up watching the millennials make asses of themselves. It wasn't just sex, but all the excess. Yeah, I'm not going to want to follow in the footsteps of someone that turned into a turbo slut in college, got a meme degree, saddled with debt they'll never pay off, are still working at Starbucks, and then just blames God for THEIR idiocy.

Anyone kind enough to give a TL;DR on what Dev's stance is on this?

John F. Trent is a blogger that used to work for Bounding into Comics.
He now is very involved in Fandom Pulse AND Park Place.
He is as you can see, very religious.

Its funny because Trent's social media presence is very small, but almost every single anti-woke youtuber uses those sites as a source for their trash low-effort daily news videos. In essence, Trent is the only one doing real work.

I'm not deep in yet, but he called DreadRoberts stance, and I quote, "satanic panic". He may flip flop in this feature film length video, but it sounds like he is on team coom.
