For all the condemnation of "mean old fascist conservatives" supposedly dooming her projects, the cold reality is that Zegler has yet to prove herself as a box office draw. Her previous films have underperformed, and Snow White seems poised to follow suit.
She was actually pretty good in the Hunger Games prequel "A Ballard of Snakes and Songbirds" about a teenage President Snow (Donald Sutherlands character).

Plus the movie was Conquistador kino with an Aryan Chad getting with a cute non-white GF (her character was a Gypsy).

is there anything to explain why Snow White would have cost so much more?

Disney has been burning money in this manner for so long that even RLM did a video six years ago just trying to explain how the mouse was managing to run the Star Wars IP into the ground through refusing to stop doing what wasn't working. In the end, the only thing Disney was willing to do differently was to run their other IPs into the ground in the same fashion, even while superficially acknowledging that they had somehow oversaturated the Star Wars market with fanbase-alienating slop they earned mass ridicule for (and to which they responded by burning even more money paying for press asserting that calling Disney slop out for what it is is something only nazis, TERFS, and trump supporters do).

Where are the so-called Blue Sky loyalists who claim to support underdog artists and marginalized voices? If the argument is that her detractors are the problem, then where are the legions of supporters who should be ensuring this film’s financial triumph?
Bluesky is just a gay libshit circlejerk. They're always going to deny reality just to defend one of their precious brown goblins. The general audience just doesn't care about Zegler, which is why her only successful endeavor was the last Hunger Games film, and that was solely due to the brand name. That shit would have made the same amount of money regardless of who they cast in her role.

At least Dragonball Evolution had a lot of the fundamental Dragonball shit in it.

Goku going super Sayian to defeat the big bad

Master Roshi teaching Goku the Kamehameha wave

Chi Chi and Bulma being girlbosses

The martial arts tournament

The Snow White remake is lacking basic shit like The Prince character and actual dwarves.

Ego? Too much middle management? Does Disney really let newbies run hogshed over their IPs? Perhaps Disney is 'too big to fail' but they seem to be trying to challenge that narrative.
The graveyard of history is full of those who were "too big to fail" in their time.
Are they any good dwarf actors? IIRC Verne Troyer had issues before he died.
David Rappaport.

Bridgette the Midget Powers. Before you start crying that she's a porn star she did star in Tiptoes along with Gary Oldman who spent the whole movie walking on his knees pretending to be a midget. And Dinkledge plays a French socialist asshole.

"The Producers" is literally a thing. A Jew told you how and why they do these things decades ago. Sure that was in the form of satire, but the best truths are told as lies or something like that.

I may stop keeping track of Snow White. Just feels like bullying to state facts on this thing's box office numbers.
So, where were we? Oh, yeah, 66% drop, beat by Working Man.

Where we are now:
$1M CLUB: DISCOUNT TUESDAY
1. A WORKING MAN ($1.8M)
2. THE CHOSEN: LAST SUPPER ($1.55M)
3. SNOW WHITE ($1.5M)
Quotes from thread:
Snow White had almost no jump, like wtf the thing is dead
How many more weekdays left until Snow White is under $1M? Next Monday?
Snow White did 1.4M on Monday. Even with discounts it barely increased

Nah, that's not bullying. This is bullying.
There's even *more* kek. A friend and I did some calculations.

So the dollar value to Norwegian currency is an estimated 10.42 krones.

Movie tickets in Norway are an estimated 115.4 krones to the American's $11.07 a ticket. (Sauce.) Mulan opened at $83 in 17 theaters. Divide 874 to 11 and about 79 people saw it in Norway across 17 theaters.

Well, what else opened that weekend?

:story:
Never forget, because Box Office Mojo actually doesn't list the Norwegian side of it anymore.

the L&S remake just keeps getting worse

the complete and utter flanderization of Lilo and Nani continues (Lilo just being a standard le quirky 6 year old and Nani being way too aggressive). Again, let's compare and contrast.

Firm but gentle, and not man-handling Stitch.

"He used to be a collie before he got ran over." Again, a bit of that inner turmoil that gives her that edge as a character leaking through, instead of a generic ".....Yeah!"

I know I'm being a bit of a mega-autist about this, but it's my personal favorite Disney movie being soul-sucked by the modern regime, excuse me for being a tad pissed. The only positive thing I can say is that at least Maia and Chris look and sound like they're having fun.

The absolute felting of Snow White has no doubt scared them shitless. Maybe this will hopefully give them the impetus they need to start working on good new original projects -

whoops, never mind they're still creatively bankrupt. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

All the Snow White stuff has made me realize that we're going to be getting Moana the live-action remake next year and I feel like Disney still hasn't learned their lesson if they honestly think that's going to turn a profit after getting lucky with the sequel and most of that just comes from people liking the original and its music.

Even discounting all of that Lilo and stitch having a remake coming out right before this one is enough to burn out the general audience on Polynesian anything and that's without discounting the fact that there's already a third movie being planned for Moana.

Fair enough.
Here's another update:
Disney's Snow White grossed $851K on Wednesday (from 4,200 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $70.69M.
Quotes from the thread:
Yikes. The film's dailies have already dropped down below $1 million dollars, and once "A Minecraft Movie" blows up in theaters, things are only going to get worse for "Snow White".
Holy shit. 50% drop from yesterday
That's like $200 average per location.

This is kind of nitpicky but little things like this show a lack of care. They couldn't push the chair, move the camera a little, and do a retake so it looks more like she's actually pointing at Stitch? These remakes aren't even worth pirating.

Not to mention that Hawaiians are being priced out of the islands. They're moving to places like the PNW and Vegas, so having their culture bled dry has to be salt in the wound.

Didn't she have something to at least interact with during filming? When Detective Pikachu and Sonic handles the overlaying of CGI models over the props better than you, suicide by Flavor Aid direct-to-video release is the only option.

It looks like. She's pointing behind the chair, so either there's a prop in it, or she was told to avoid it. Either way, it's very careless.

i was going to say "but the chair is right there, couldn't she just point to it?" then i fucking realized even the chair is CGI. Holy shit, they really do fly by the seat of their pants. say what you will about Roger Rabbit or Starship troopers but there's something to be said about actually having planned out your shit beforehand. Its very easy to react to something when there is a model there too. What happened to having some stupid doll or midget standing in that you take out in post either?

I also think they should have aged up Lilo, gun to my head i can't really name too many child actors under 13 that are good/can pull off these types of roles. They should have just aged up the role a bit and allowed a slightly older actress who could pull off the weirdness. like there's this new movie coming out called Sketch and its a stupid little indie film, but the actress pulls off that weirdness people are expecting to see in the live action lilo film, here's the trailer for proof.

she could have gotten a prop but what if the director decides to change everything about the CGI in the scene? wouldn't it be smarter to give the little girl as little as possible so you can change everything around her at a moment's notice? the MCU does it and it worked great in the thanos saga.
