At first I thought to make separate thread for this but on second thought, I think it's not worth it. Yet.
Buckle up cuz Groomsney are making new TRON movie. Presenting you CyberMorbius 2077 as one of your characters of choice. I wish it was a satire but no, it's not.

I'm still weirded out at the NINs being on a Disney joint
Academy Award Winning Film Score Composer Trent Reznor, sure, but the Slightly Long Spikes?
Baffling, but okay, whatever. The aesthetics and name alone should sell the movie...right?
yeah it really banks heavily on you caring a shitload about two movies of mixed success (to be nice)
and it also manages to promise "we're gonna do shit with the lightcycle walls (but maybe not kill people too much)" and immediately beat it into the fucking ground and make it clear why that was a stupid thing to do
It has been 15 years since Legacy. And that's early compared to the time between Tron Legacy and the first Tron movie, which was close to 30 years.
I'm not seeing Olivia Wilde in the cast. Or the other protagonist from Legacy. Hmm. What a strange franchise.
iirc TR3N was in the works when they were doing the second one but never really hit critical mass, similarly there was a Tron 2 coaster that took a thousand years to get made (which iirc was largely unrelated to the never-built Tron 1 coaster)
I suspect that Tron 3 and the Tron Coaster were similarly not-really-fully-funded projects or some other quasi-existence that kept each other afloat like some binary star system and a black hole and some other star trek shit.
but yeah Tron was literally a punchline in the Simpsons, weird internet people liked it, then Tron 2.0 came out and somewhat-less-weird internet people got a better appreciation for it, then Disney forgot that "cult classic" means "nobody gave a fuck" and tried to make it The New Big Thing for whatever reason.
I've heard the cartoon has some cool fight scenes at least.
