Rachel talking shit about the original Snow White is the thing I'm upset about with her. Shaming people for liking a piece of media you dislike is always a shitty thing to do.
Unfortunately, during the pre and early 2010s dunking on older media especially when it came to Disney was something that was a popular thing to do.

You can look back at things like the nostalgia chick, crack.com, and the whole bunch of BuzzFeed stuff.

The problem many of these predominantly now leftist individuals have is that they don't take into account the nuance of the films and the era that they were created in.

The idea is that they judge things from a modern lens to see if creators from several decades ago had enough foresight to predict what would be culturally accepted by the masses and if it doesn't then that film is branded "problematic"

new TRON movie
Baffling, but okay, whatever. The aesthetics and name alone should sell the movie...right?
It has been 15 years since Legacy. And that's early compared to the time between Tron Legacy and the first Tron movie, which was close to 30 years.
I'm not seeing Olivia Wilde in the cast. Or the other protagonist from Legacy. Hmm. What a strange franchise.

Jeff Bridges is in Tron Ares, but his character died in the last film. Sorry for spoilers. So will it be another CGI de-aged variant? Something minor like flashbacks? Or he didn't die?

It'll be a mistake if it doesn't tie into Legacy, even if it's a cameo for Olivia Wilde and that bland male actor, whoever he was.

Jared Leto just isn't a movie star. Does he keep getting work by fucking old female executives and studio heads wives?

The Moana sequel we need but will never get is Captain James Cook and the British Navy showing up.

Could do so much. Show how barbaric the Polynesians were. The Rock character hanging a neighboring tribes heads on display. Moana pimped out to the British Navy's soldiers in exchange for nails and axes. We need a Mel Gibson live-action Moana.

Make it like Apocalypto.

I think after he won his Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club, he just became a shit actor who stopped caring, being bland or at worse downright horrendous like in Suicide Squad. His best roles from that point were those that showed him doing the least amount of events possible.

The only thing I remember him in is as Nick Cage's failson brother in Lord of War.

At first I thought to make separate thread for this but on second thought, I think it's not worth it. Yet.

Buckle up cuz Groomsney are making new TRON movie. Presenting you CyberMorbius 2077 as one of your characters of choice. I wish it was a satire but no, it's not.

The whole appeal of TRON is that it takes place inside a computer, and while fantastic, it was still grounded in reality (the people who made it knew how computers worked). Now they just turned it into Pixels.

I'm still weirded out at the NINs being on a Disney joint
Academy Award Winning Film Score Composer Trent Reznor, sure, but the Slightly Long Spikes?

yeah it really banks heavily on you caring a shitload about two movies of mixed success (to be nice)
and it also manages to promise "we're gonna do shit with the lightcycle walls (but maybe not kill people too much)" and immediately beat it into the fucking ground and make it clear why that was a stupid thing to do

iirc TR3N was in the works when they were doing the second one but never really hit critical mass, similarly there was a Tron 2 coaster that took a thousand years to get made (which iirc was largely unrelated to the never-built Tron 1 coaster)
I suspect that Tron 3 and the Tron Coaster were similarly not-really-fully-funded projects or some other quasi-existence that kept each other afloat like some binary star system and a black hole and some other star trek shit.
but yeah Tron was literally a punchline in the Simpsons, weird internet people liked it, then Tron 2.0 came out and somewhat-less-weird internet people got a better appreciation for it, then Disney forgot that "cult classic" means "nobody gave a fuck" and tried to make it The New Big Thing for whatever reason.
I've heard the cartoon has some cool fight scenes at least.

I think Jared Leto was pretty good when he was always getting his limbs chopped off, like in American Psycho and Requiem for a Dream.

Plot twist, Bridges is actually playing The Dude and this is a stealth sequel to the Big Lebowski.

Disney will sooner remake the black cauldron before they acknowledge atlantis and treasure planet exist.

Not that I'm complaining, it just means they're safe from cultural vandalism, but its still funny.
