The Toy Story 5 teaser is out now.
I saw it in theaters years ago when I was still naive about how bad Pixar was getting. There were a couple funny moments, but other than that you’re really not missing anything.I still haven't seen the 4th one. The world had enough Toy Story after the 3rd one.
The nostalgia industry needs to die. We have way too many reboots and unnecessary sequels because of it. And I know everyone will say “Toy Story is for kids”. I know. But every generation of kids is different. Eventually, we will have a generation who will not care about a franchise, because it will be too old for them. The only people who will care will be terminal manchildren. Which has happened with Toy Story.View attachment 8156917

These people will never realize that nostalgia has an expiration date too and once these man-children die, barely anyone's going to care about their 70's/80's/90's franchises. The only people who will care will be terminal manchildren.
Zoomers and Alphas are already abandoning Hollywood because of this. The Minecraft movie couldn't even make $1 billion and that IP is incredibly popular with kids. The problem is the executives signing off on movies are all older Millennials who only want to see reboots, sequels, and prequels of movies we grew up with. That's why there's a Neverending Story reboot or sequel in production right now and why we won't get anything new for at least a decade. Hollywood is losing two generations of customers. The nostalgia industry needs to die. We have way too many reboots and unnecessary sequels because of it. On the case of "The Minecraft Movie" people only went to go watch it ironically to make fun of how bad the movie would be.Zoomers and Alphas are already abandoning Hollywood because of this. Pixar wanted to end it after Toy Story 3, but Disney, which owns Pixar, wanted to milk it.I think the ending of Toy Story 3 was a fitting send-off to the franchise as a whole. Toy Story 4 and beyond is just milking an old teat at this point.
All these remakes, reboots, and sequels get criticism for the right reasons. And then they get forgotten about. These people will never realize that nostalgia has an expiration date too and once these man-children die, barely anyone's going to care about their 70's/80's/90's franchises.
People clamoring for remakes & reboots of games and movies while the originals can be accessed if you know where to look or searched the internet thoroughly are just plain retarded. Every time I watch a play-through of an old game, there will be boomer/millennial/zoomer retards who clamor for a remake or a reboot yet fail to explain why a reboot/remake should happen in the first place. All these remakes, reboots, and sequels get criticism for the right reasons. And then they get forgotten about.
Truth be told I'll wait until the movie is online. The Buzz Lightyear army sounds interesting but I could see Disney screwing it up somehow. The only way I see this 5th one working is if Lotso is leading a revolution against smart tablets since they basically proved his point right. Also a buzz lightyear army was teased beforehand.
One thing I've noticed about the teaser is the same problem that Shrek 5 has. The characters look to clean. Yes, Andy and Bonnie take care of their toy but many of them are old. Many of Andy's toys are supposed to be about 20+ and Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye are supposed to be over 50. Even if Andy and Bonnie keep them in good condition they will still have wear and wear to them.https://youtube.com/watch?v=GGBgf8dcgyY

That was a subplot in Toy Story 2, when Andy accidentally ripped Woody’s arm. But at the same time reality doesn’t always matter when it comes to creating characters. One thing I've noticed about the teaser is the same problem that Shrek 5 has. The characters look to clean. I will defend HTTYD because they handled the separation of a duo the best, although it still could've easily gone a different route without feeling the need to be contrived or to have their cake and eat it too. Even though the franchise wasn't doing the same things as the books, the first book does open with the line "There were dragons when I was a boy", and therefore put a set time limit on the dragons, and I think the movies wanted to be more subtle about that. Maybe the TV show put into force that foreshadowing, I'll have to watch it again.but at least we wouldn't have had to deal with movies trying to convince us Toothless and Hiccup, Ralph and Vanellope, AND Buzz and Woody are all better off separate in rapid succession
