I expect they are doing it to bolster their profits when it comes to end of Q reports. Like I said in the Marvel thread, those Q2 numbers must be horrible, I don't think Disney + is operating to the level they expected vs reality.
 
”Elemental” is making “Soul” looking more and more like high-grade art. If anything, for the first time, it makes me wonder if I was unfair when making fun of that movie in the first place.

I never understood the idea of racial allegory through literal different entities. If anything it justifies differences and risks between groups by saying that there is quantifiable objective differences. But using elements might be a new low bar because every fucking cultural reference to elements has them inherently opposed and damaging to each other.
Another disturbing thing is that the character design is literal blobs that fits globohomo art with eradication of gender and body types.
Of course I expect the cost of the film will be in the hundreds of millions despite being made entirely of particle effects rather than animation.

That's a really bad photo lol.

The doll looks significantly less like the actress than most of the other live action dolls, the doll actually looks pretty face-wise.
Probably made her less realistic and more basic barbie bc they know the actress looks nothing like the character, so there's no need to make the face look anything more than generically black, while the others needed a more specific face mold to differentiate the live action dolls from the nomal dolls.

They are actually pulling an M. Night Shyamalan thinking its easier to teach someone who can luau to act rather than doing the far smarter and easier thing of taking someone who can act and teaching them to luau.

We all know its going to be a fucking train wreck like every other Disney live action adaptation of their animated classics. But this is getting to M. Night levels of bad adaptation and that is truly a fucking feat.
