A farm boy joins his sister's terrorist organization, helps blow a major government installation with the help of a smuggler, and the only government employee to survive is his father.

Damn, that’s some beautiful art. Shame the actual film might not look as good.

And for the record, Rowling didn’t invent that shit either.
I love how JK agreed with these fuckers about everything else they claim to stand for, but the moment she expressed 1 different view point, she was cast out like Odin did to Thor. Also, Gato is based for saying that out loud. I think Disney would save themselves a lot of headaches if they had to disclose the profit vs the budget of their shows. That way when the axe comes down you could point to the money it lost because no one watched it.

The touching story of a boy with big dreams who stops a fellow orphan from going down a dark path in life.

Being a concept artist at Disney sounds like the most useless job ever. Concept artists put in all of this hard work only for the movie to look like the exact same thing they've been doing for decades at this point. Don't expect a Disney movie to actually have some kind of style.

The default for Disney storytelling now is “what if a socially awkward kid from an ethnic family encountered the supernatural”, the DVTA YA model has finally overtaken their feature department with this creative straitjacket, and you know, at least back in the early days Disney’s one-size-fits-all art direction could be explained as a product of Walt Disney's own design sensibilities. Nowadays it just comes from the company's aversion to risk and the learned helplessness of a lot of people in modern Western animation.

If you're bored and want a fun game, try and make older, good movies sound as generic as this announcement makes this new one sound.

Like, "Pixar announces Monsters, Inc., a story about two coworkers that turn their work life upside-down and test the strength of their friendship".

You have to actively omit vital information to make them not sound much more interesting than "what if weird kid actually magic?".
A cop, a trustafarian, and a veteran go fishing.

A puppet joins the circus.

A game character helps another learn to drive.

A bell-ringer and a judge can't get laid.

It sounds like the writers for Owl House are joining Glitch to create Knights of Guinevere which sounds like it's supposed to shit on Disney, which i would normally find interesting but with the Owl House writers I have concerns.

Disney does a lot of crap that drives me nuts, but I also get annoyed with things that mock it because it's so played out by this point. It's such an easy target and it's not interesting to watch anymore.

They've made fun of themselves so many times even just them doing it is played out, and they still haven't stopped!

It's a shame more people in the west aren't going out to watch Ne Zha 2. Animation and visuals are great. Very entertaining film, with great action. While I haven't seen a new Disney/Pixar for many years. It does stuff and goes places I can't imagine any of them would story wise.
