For Tron: Ares, early reviews suggest it leans on visuals and action while neglecting the story and world-building. Which is dumb because that's what made the franchise interesting. It just makes the Tron world a back drop. It also neglects human drama, but it still servers the point of not understanding the genre setting and world of Tron.

Then to make Tron: Ares disconnected from Legacy is fucking stupid. They don't understand why people liked it. Boil it down to some basic themes, music and visuals. Completely undermines the franchise’s foundation for the sake of generic spectacle.
I dont think it completely neglects the world building, As there is a decent amount of focus on the competing interests of ENCOM and its rival company Dillinger Systems. The idea of using the grid's 3D printing abilities to create Dillingers weapons systems vs ENCOM's focus on Entertainment and agriculture is interesting. Now granted they don't go as hard as Legacy does with Cue and Flynn, but there is at least an attempt at interesting ideas. The whole pathos the Asian chick is going though of finding Flynn's lost works to reconnect with her dead sister is neat.

It doesn't have the depth of Legacy but the fact it even tries to go for it elevates it above modern slop, if that makes any sense.

From your review, I’ll check it out this weekend or sometime next week.

The good thing about them is they're impossible to pack, so they'll inevitably be crushed in your luggage.

I guess it doesn't really matter though cause even the most Disney-fied retard wouldn't wear them anywhere but the park.
That or they end up in Disney's resort-wide lost & found and eventually end up in said system's once-yearly charity sale for drastic discounts (this year's had them priced at 3 bucks a pop along with other hats and baseball caps) if they're not claimed.
Ooof that's a bad sign
Seeing as how the woman was in her 60's a lot of folks are saying that she probably died from a preexisting condition that she didn't know about.
What the fuck Disney??

Look how uncomfortable these two poor girls are! Burn the rat to the ground!
You and everyone else responding to the video are a good two years late, Disney received backlash for a similar event that happened at Disneyland in 2023. Part of me wants to say that the metrosexual cast member that pops up in this video is the same one from the news article but I'm not 100% sure of it.

>truly original
>passion project
>third film in an only moderately successful franchise starring one of the biggest walking jokes in Hollywood

I can't even tell if this bitch is being sarcastic or not.

Tron Ares is on pace to make even loss money than Morbius.

At this point I don’t even think the lesson is “Make a Good Movie”, it might just be “Stop casting Jared Leto as a Lead”

Saw Tron Ares yesterday and I match the main sympathies of the thread that it was much better than I expected, but I did have very bad expectations going in.

Something that I will say that I thought was funny was, personally, I think Jared Leto is a bad person and a bad actor, but I think he kind of worked being casted as a emotionless AI robot. He's so bad at acting that acting as a monotone, boring AI person actually worked, especially in the beginning, because that's how bad actors act anyway. Towards the end when he is supposed to start developing more feelings and acting more "human" you can start seeing the cracks of the bad acting but at the beginning I kind of liked his acting which not something I say very often about fucking Jared Leto.

I also thought that the lead was not a very good actor, and the lines just felt choppy. I liked the villain CEO a lot though.

Whoever tries to make tron a thing at Disney needs to realize it never will happen, which is fine make smaller budget movies or animated shit with it but they spent the budget of a small country to have jared leto sleep walk through his performance with a good soundtrack with pretty good effects only to have it bomb worse than morbius
Somehow I can not wait to see Ares somehow show up in kingdom hearts 4 since its somehow gets all of its movies in that series for some reason

I saw Tron Ares and I think it was a decent sequel overall. I was expecting more action and Jared Leto wasn't as bad as I thought he would be. It was overall a decent film. I still think Legacy and the OG was better. Pretty edgy for a live action Disney film imo. 9inchnails did good on the score...
Why did they have Jeff Bridges back? That wasn't Kevin Flynn but some sort of version of him?

I think Tr3n and the Tron Coaster were in some mutual bullshit keeping both projects alive despite all logic and reason
I really like Tron. I had the movie on RCA videodisc as a kid, managed to snag a red lightcycle, Sark, a guard, and... I forget, maybe Clu? I literally found that lightcycle out of box under some shit at a Toys R Us and my mom had to throw a spaz with me to get them to bullshit up a price, because this was before anything other than NOW was on the shelf.
I had The Art of Tron at like, age 5. reading about Moebius and shit because THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE
I fucking fought for my Tron shit with every wapner flowing through my autistic little veins, and I cannot fathom why Disney keeps trying to make it a thing

Adults do not think like children. Adults cannot be children partly because they have adult thoughts and respond to things like an adult and cannot return to the innocence of childhood.
There is a dark poetry in that when you have children, you get to experience childhood again through the eyes of your child, especially if they delight in the same things you did as a child, but the Disney Adults fail to mature enough to have children and forgo that secondary childhood from perpetually chasing their lost first.

So... Um... Disney is doing anime now. I will admit I didn't think I would see an official uke version of the Queen of Hearts.

Japan Disney is special. They have Twisted Wonderland (where the Queen of hearts boy is from) and even extra Characters that only exist in Tokyo Disneyland.

These characters are Henchmen working for the Villains in Tokyo Disneyland.
