So any possibility of Disney+ failing? They just seem to be pushing way too much crap and the truly good stuff like the classic films seems to be limited. I genuinely feel sorry if there are people out there genuinely invested in a Lady and the Tramp remake.
I wouldn't bet on it. Yes, they are pushing a lot of crap, but they're also releasing a significant portion of their filmography and the stuff they own, including Marvel movies, Star Wars, and The Simpsons. There are enough people out there wanting to watch capeshit, SW, and classic Simpsons that at the very least Disney+ would get a modest audience.

The bigger question is if it's going to overtake Netflix. Right now, Netflix is the primary streaming service, but Disney+ could easily overtake it just from its in-house selection alone (I mean that in the sense of what Disney already has available, like classic movies and Marvel). Disney doesn't have to pay royalties or rights to show their movies when they could just throw their classic animated movies on the service, and people will gobble that shit up.

If I were the CEO of Disney, I would spend the company's money on giving every employee a general raise. Not spending it on another damn cruise ship for millenials and Facebook moms to vlog on.

Disney also could have not spent so much money on Galaxy's Edge for both Disneyland and Disney World.

At least the Disney Cruises are fun and worth the time. Galaxy's Edge is an expensive thing that offers nothing of value or worth ... And it's making people working at the parks lose their jobs.

Proud Family to me always looked like one of Bill Cosby's stand-ups without the punchline, and I just never understood it. I suppose it's the first fully-animated black family (that you actually followed and weren't just neighbors who occasionally showed up like the Carmichaels on Rugrats or just a group of friends like Fat Albert) on a children's network, but I don't think it was anything special otherwise. I preferred That's So Raven anyway, but that's not animated so it "doesn't count",

The Proud Family was insanely white. So was That's So Raven and the dumb spin-off Corey in the House or whatever the fuck it was called. It was a weird foray into wokeness, in the sense that Disney showed off that yes, there IS black programming on the channel! And also it's acceptable to you!

Inner-city black kids don't get cable. I literally know of nobody who watched The Proud Family. Know a bunch of people who watched Roc though.

I know one person who I grew up with who watched it but that was more of a trailer park setting.

I know someone who watched Proud Family and they don't have cable. They even said "y'all" alot because of it.

So I guess they’re never fixing that fucking yeti.
Now that Hagrid has that janky unicorn up the road Disco Yeti isn't such a big deal. But yeah the rumor I always heard was that they'd need to go down to the foundation of the building to see _if_ they could fix it, then they _might_ be able to fix it but it could need rebuilding most of the support structures from scratch and adding some extras.
iirc Jaws at Universal Orlando had similar issues of being too powerful for its mountings

Wait whats up with hagrid’s? Ive only heard that the lines are abysmal and it breaks down often.

There's a unicorn at the end with some janky movements. Normally it would be easy to overlook but the ride slows down to point you at it so you have to stare.

Nothing is impossible, but with the service only being $7 a month and having a mass of content that no sane minded parent would turn down, it’s unlikely. As critical as I’ve been of some of Disney’s practices lately, I’ll be getting the service. If my seven year old has access to all of Phineas and Ferb, he might be occupied enough for me to mow the lawn.

When they inevitably take The Twilight Zone out of the last Tower of Terror, it's game over.

...unless -- and there's no way in hell Disney'd do it these days -- they reverted back to the ride's original conception as a murder mystery. At the very least, unlike that Guardians of the Galaxy monstrosity, there's only so much they can do to mangle the original Tower since that was built expressly to blend with Epcot's Moroccan section.

To be honest, most park attendees probably don't know what the fuck The Twilight Zone even is. Disney kinda painted themselves into the corner with the old IPs.

Next up is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster ft. Aerosmith, the band your grandpa used to listen to when he was smoking weed in high school.

Well, they'll get the chance to at least assess the situation eventually since all the rides have to go down for extended refurbishment at some point. But since it was only built about 14 years ago I wouldn't count on that happening in the near future, unless something happens that requires major repairs.

Just read an article that said that we "NEED" Disney+ because it has a Proud Family revival on it.

From what I recall, Proud Family was a really mediocre show that had obnoxious characters and choppy animation. I mean was the Proud Family some kind of big deal back then? Is that why people think it and Lizzie McGuire are a big motivator to subscribe to Disney+ now? I can understand that Phineas and Ferb show since almost every site and even people here talked about it, so I guess it was pretty damn big, but the Proud Family was basically a "literally who". And as for Phinease and Ferb, it feels like they're just m;lking it for popularity despite that, from what I understand, it already had an official ending. Unless it wasn't conclusive? Either way, these unnecessary revivals are getting on my nerves. Only reason I enjoyed the Samurai Jack and Zim revivals were because their shows ended on cliffhangers that never resolved the core plot of their shows, thus it gave them some nice conclusions. These other revivals however feel really pointless other than to tard cum nostalgiafags of their money and take advantage of this revival craze.
Sorry, I rated that post Islamic content because I only saw like 2 episodes of the proud family back in the day, and one of those was an episode where the main girl had to live with a Muslim family for some reason, and they shamed her into wearing that ninja hat they make their women wear despite her not being a muzzie.

Why is it making people lose their jobs?

Galaxy's Edge has been a failure at Disneyland so far. Attendance this Summer has been low, when crowd level expectations were very high. Less money coming in = More jobs being lost AND more working hours being cut for employees at the parks. The latter has definitely been confirmed.

Not sure if late, but....

The poster for the next Star Wars movie was made with an action figure image lol. They didn't even bother making their own original art.

How is this something that'll shape retail, as the article claims? I see Sephora stores within JC Penneys all the time.

This made me look up Disney stores to see if they still exist. Nobody goes to those anymore, I can see them shuttering them and replacing them with this partnership.

The best kind of Disney stores are the character warehouses, anyway. They sell the parks merchandise but marked down and I have a feeling that sooner rather than later those stores will be full of Galaxy's Edge merch.
