He's just a miserable person and doesn't know how not to be miserable... so that makes him more miserable.

Phil is fully aware of how to not be a miserable person - he's simply too introverted/lazy/narcissistic to do anything about it. He's too scared to interact with people who aren't Twitch or Twitter accounts he can't ban or block, he's too lazy to improve his work or himself and instead just buys more "trophies" to make himself look important, and he's too much of a narcissist to get a normal job and just be "Phil Burnell" - he NEEDS to be DSP because he thinks he's owed for all his "contributions" to Let's Play.

I’m just gonna put it this way...

When a person only brings up and uses depression when they’re trying to justify something they did and then never mention it otherwise or exhibit any other symptoms, they don’t have depression. Period.

Depression has a wide range of symptoms and treatments, as mentioned before. It’s not only a, “I feel sad and bummed out all the time,” kind of thing, but it has physical manifestations as well, including constant lethargy, stomach problems, coexisting anxiety disorder, intense sweating, etc.

Phil generally doesn’t exhibit any of this shit. He likes to use depression as a shield, and that’s something people who actually have depression would never do.

Oh, and the way he called out Supermeatboy in chat that one day and outright ostracized him midstream. Him BTFOing someone who claims to be depressed when he is supposedly depressed proves he doesn’t have it. Most people who deal with the disorder have empathy and understanding towards others who have it as well, and as we all know Phil 100% lacks empathy.
