Phil is the reason we got yellow paint in games in the first place. I wonder how easy they will make games now thanks to this clip.

Because this is what they always intended, there was a stream long time ago, like after Eternal came out but before TAG came out where they asked Hugo what the direction for the next Doom game would be if they made another one. His response was pretty much what would become the gameplay for TDA, slower than 2016 but you hit like a freight train. If the market has spoken, why has Dark Ages changed the combat to be the complete opposite of Eternal's? Why change what wasn't broken?
This is a personal thing not a dig at the game itself, I'm getting it after the DRM gets removed. I just loathe "the market has spoken" token response.Besides, do YOU want it to be faster than Eternal? I sure don't.
Apologies. I agree on the market has spoken thing though, its just that with Eternal I think if anything the market response was that people wanted Eternal 2 and not something completely different like TDA.This is a personal thing not a dig at the game itself, I'm getting it after the DRM gets removed. Wow. He's positively beaming with excitement.
This quote along with the first 5 seconds of the video made me laugh my ass off.grunt from Quake 2. Thanks for more blueballs, id.
And Eternal is terrible, so there's that. Not as good as Eternal
I don't think Eternal 2 would really add anything, it took the basic concept from Doom 2016 and ramped the movement to 11 so you became a cyclone of destruction.I think if anything the market response was that people wanted Eternal 2 and not something completely different like TDA.
Which is why they made TDA and not Eternal 2. This one seems to be a pretty clear passion project from ID or Hugo.I don't think Eternal 2 would really add anything, it took the basic concept from Doom 2016 and ramped the movement to 11 so you became a cyclone of destruction.
You feel slower in TDA but the Shield Charge and Parry make you feel like you are a fucking meteor, once you get the shockwave upgrade for parrying...doing a successful one and having all the demons near you stagger because you and a hell knight punched at each other so hard that everyone around you takes damage does feel satisfying.
Like when Superman punched Darkseid in Justice League Unlimited and the show just stopped for a moment to let you feel how hard superman just hit a motherfucker.
No one hated Doom 3 until 2016 came out and the faggots that whine jerked off to the lighting effects in 3.
Doom 3 was polarizing at the time. I didn't play it until the BFG edition, and I was so bored by it I never finished it.
My biggest complaint so far is that the Melee Combo doesn't stun things hard enough, I will hit something with a Demon Burst, they will stun..and if I do the full melee combo they recover from the stun mid way through the Combo.Which is why they made TDA and not Eternal 2. This one seems to be a pretty clear passion project from ID or Hugo.
I'm exited about the shockwave thing, the shield right now feels awesome and I feel like Demoman every time I charge at some some little pissbaby Imp and they get turned into mince meat. It getting better sounds amazing.
So far I'm not big on the shield-to-armor mechanic since the hit detection for the superheated shields feels off
The Final boss is fucking lame, lamer than Evil Doomguy from Eternal.Doom3 isn't for everyone. If you aren't a sucker for just stopping and taking in atmosphere than yeah it sucks. I don't play Doom3 for the shooting I can tell you that much.
What, the Cyberdemon? Yeah he got done dirty in Doom 3, though I honestly think they just ran out of ideas of how to make boss fights because you can cheese almost every boss fight in Doom 3. (Sarge being one-shot by BFG is never not hilarious.)The Final boss is fucking lame, lamer than Evil Doomguy from Eternal.
Yeah...the one that is immune to all damage except the soul cube. What, the Cyberdemon? Yeah he got done dirty in Doom 3
The Cyberdemon fight is also hilarious because they give you shitloads of ammo for every single weapon in the game, only for you to use all that rocket and plasma ammo on a dozen or so Imps to win the game, this is even the case in the original and BFG Edition gives you much more ammo. What, the Cyberdemon? I agree. I actually really enjoyed Eternal, and I wasn't expecting to because I very much disliked Doom 2016.with Eternal I think if anything the market response was that people wanted Eternal 2
