DOTA 2

The issue is I'm mostly playing turbo because games are inexcusably long. I don't have time for a 60 minute long game. When I am playing the game consistently in unranked the players I see who are ranked are in archon/legend mostly. The thing is at lower rungs of gameplay neither team knows how to push objectives so the game just never ends. You literally cannot corral these fucking idiots to destroy a tower even after a fight. What people do is go to one lane for a perpetual tardfight and that lane is a tug of war until eventually people stop trying and then boredom compels the winning team to march up to the base and actually win.
(I've never played DOTA 2 and only casually played the original.)
Would having a stacking debuff for enemy towers encourage players to destroy them? Nothing too strong, even a 1% reduction of move speed for each tier 1-3 could dissuade them from rushing into a pointless fight. Even if a 45min brawl in mid was the objective, they would hopefully prioritize destroying the tier 1 in each lane first.

The issue is that Valve wants comebacks because people need to feel that the have a good shot even if they're falling behind. In practice, these comeback mechanics are just stalemate mechanics. The "late game" carries of beta are gone. Every character has late game now. Only infinitely scaling heroes like Medusa and Legion are truly late game.

Well yeah, no one who plays a PvP game wants to get bumfucked just because their team didn't get first strike. But part of playing PvP is learning how to maintain momentum when you're winning and regain it when you're not. If you can't regain momentum and fall further and further behind, you are going to lose. That is less fun than winning, but it's part of playing any game.

I looked up how bounties are calculated, and you're right. It just encourages both teams to play defensively, when ideally the leading team would play defense, and the opponents would be more aggressive to regain momentum.

People keep saying that Muerta is best as pos 4, but going shooty shooty bang bang bang is much more satisfying.

Muerta is such a weird case, she's a victim to the powercreep and design mishmash that plagues Dota these days. Because everyone needs to have a meme mobility and meme waveclear ability and be tanky as fuck now, Muerta which has neither and is fragile really suffers.
She has strong early spells so she needs mana and a Falcon Blade, she has no farming ability other than her passive so she needs to rush a mael ASAP, she's fragile and can be shut down during ult so she needs BKB and dispel, and items that proc with right click for damage, she's too expensive to gear and I can't get her to work well. Goes from really strong early to bad in the middle to a discount Medusa late, she can still 1v5 skullfuck fights like Medusa but unlike her she can be bursted or denied her damage if the enemies are competent.

Because role queue. People throwing over roles forced the game design to mandate roles when before you had teams doing crazy shit.

I remember people asking for role queue before the game even acknowledged meta concepts like the lanes having different purposes. Back in the day there were three lanes and a jungle and it was up to you what to do with if. Now it's 2/1/2/0 in jungle

that sucks because during the beta test dota 2 was trying it's best to copy most of the mechanics from WC3 dota where roles were something you felt like doing rather than being forced to like in LoF, the few pages mentioning people not pushing makes me conclude that either these players are retarded because they want to play it safe or towers got massively buffed and i don't know which is worse but i understand as dota2 never inherited all of the damage mechanics from WC3 one with stuff like hero armor and normal damage creeps have which was a main gripe that many migrating players had but at least towers were easy to kill, i booted up 6.83 and have been noticing that people are taking barathum top and throw a bitchfit if you ask them to shadow charge someone early game because "their build is incomplete" unless they think they can deal the killing blow rather than getting assistance money, it's like these people want to use the hero skillset to fill a retarded role rather than comboing the skills on a enemy as a one way ticket to fountain and push the lane.

it seems that the players that would mock anyone asking for this shit and telling them to go play league of faggots/HoN have grown tired of the game and left, i can easily guess the answer but i will ask anyway: do new heroes skillset have a sort of implied role focus to them? if so then DotA1/2 got hit with the league of faggots stick, damn, they will probably follow the retarded trend of releasing a new hero OP as fuck to nerf later rather than being a cointoss like when undying was shit once released until they buffed him on dota1.

yes, additionally the most recent hero Kez is not only voiced by an enormous faggot with characater lines that sound written by Joss Whedon for a capehit movie, but he also has the ability to swap between two weapons with 8 skills in total that all have impossibly complicated effects like a league of legends character. When you're up against a kez it literally feels like he has everything: projectile, jump, dash, invisibility. he just constantly whips out new shit.

Kled is probably not your best example from recent LoL champs considering his innate is effectively his entire kit. Q is snapfire shotgun, W is ursa attack speed buff but you can't not use it and any auto puts it on CD, E is a short dash that cannot travel through terrain (unlike every other modern hero) and R is movespeed for allies as you move to a selected location and locks onto anybody it gets near (also cannot choose not to).

Personally I don't mind Kez. His voice lines are cringe, but the kit is really not that bad and feels fine when compared with something like Invoker or even Earth Spirit. I like playing Brew sometimes and everybody knows he has literal paragraphs of text for his abilities. We also don't get forced diversity black waman heroes constantly. Kled is the last arguably white hero Riot has released.

Oh, and Kled was released 9 years ago.
