Finally got off my ass and beat Radahn, turns out if it can bleed you can kill it even if it’s currently ascending into godhood.
And before you call that cheap, why did they put bleed in the game if I wasn’t supposed to use it? I’ll beat him the old fashioned way next run, I’m pretty sure I didn’t do the blood guy’s quest because I can’t find his scythe for shit.
I will say though, damn they fixed his AI over the updates he was not near as crazy a fight as day one. He doesn’t just deck you the second you step through the fog wall at least.
Now that I’ve finished the DLC, the best bosses were Midra because that was everything I wanted from the frenzy stuff, Radahn was just awesome and felt like the fight I wanted from “lore accurate Radahn”, and CUUURSE YOOOOOU BAAAAYLE!!!!
My favorite new weapons were by far the Hand To Hand Arts, slapboxing nerds never gets old and they flow like silk. The Light Greatswords were kind of meh, the Milady had to carry them as the only infuseable one and I feel like the class would have benefited from some more variety even though the moveset is slick. The Great Katanas are underwhelming tbh, same issue as before if there were more options for different builds it would be a better weapon class. And the Perfume Bottles were a cool idea, but bro they got done dirty and I feel like there’s something they could have done to make them really cool but as it is unless you go pure Purfumer they just don’t have a place in anyone’s build for much of anything.
The new magic was a mixed bag, the main issue with the new options was that many of them were not as good or useful as base game spells that did the same thing but better and the good ones were in classes that needed no help at all. Dragon Communion got some new tactical nukes like it really needed that, and meanwhile Blood incantations got one thing you need to beat the whole DLC to get and the two Crucible themed ones are not exactly amazing. I mean, Bloom bro, why did that need to exist? Was someone crying out for a Miranda Flower cosplay or something?
Overall I really liked the DLC, it was tons of fun. There were some missed opportunities, but the majority of it was peak.
